It's lunch.  I'm bored.  Saw Petzi's "A Day in the Life" post and decided, why the heck not?  I'll do that too.

So... Wednesday:

6:30 AM - alarm clock went off.  Hit snooze.
6:40 AM - alarm clock went  off.  Hit snooze
6:50 AM - alarm clock went off.  Rolled over.  Petted puppy.  Turned-on Kindle.  Browsed.  Posted GoT musings to [livejournal.com profile] shapinglight

7:00 AM - got out of bed, facilities, off to the back porch to open gate so that puppy can visit garden facilities.  Dressed: Khaki pants, white camisole, pool-blue blouse, Granny's pearls.

7:50 AM - Running late. Grabbed sausage to cook at the office for breakfast, a leftover chicken leg for lunch and threw in some blackberries and laughing cow cheese to go with it. Petted puppy.  Drove to office. Note that the goats are out today (my commute to work passes a sheep and goat farm.  Goats are cute, especially the babies and there have been a bunch of babies in that field this spring.  I always note whether the goats are out (if it's too hot or too cold they usually aren't.  I'm convinced that these are 1/2 pet goats, because they seem to lead a somewhat sheltered existence on this little farm and their numbers only seem to go up and never down)  Anyway, they are adorable and always a pleasant sight in the morning.

8:20 AM signed into office.  Turned on computer, headed to the kitchen, nuked sausage, poured coffee.  Needed coffee.  Desperately.

8:30 AM Discussed last evening with officemate Peter

8:40+/- AM  back to trying to figure out how in the heck to do the slanted at different angles soffit-thingie for the new Aerospace building.

11:30 AM Lunch (chicken leg, blackberries, laughing cow cheese).  Entered food to MyFitnessPal.  Browsed computer.

12:00 - 4:00 PM continued fiddling with the Aerospace building.

3:00PM - ate a peach and had unsweetened tea for a snack

4:00-5:00 PM met with boss on design changes to the Aerospace building.  Too tired to make any changes today.  Note to self to look up the details I'll need for butt-glazed ribbon window systems in the morning.

5:30 PM Left office, drove to retired parents house, picked-up puppy (Mom often transfers puppy to her house during the day), played with puppy, drove home.

6:00 PM changed clothes (khaki capris + blue striped t-shirt),  picked tomatoes (yellow and cherry tomatoes are ripening!) and cooked dinner (tomato+watermelon+vinegar+olive oil (or whatever you want call that) on baby lettuce with a homemade honey-mustard dressing and pan seared chicken... because my oven caught on fire the day before.

(Have I mentioned that my oven caught on fire the day before?  Sparkler-like electrical fire! Whoosh!  Mm-hmmm.  And, no, the oven did not work after that.  This is a problem.)

7:00 PM Dad drove over to remove the element in my oven (that had caught on fire like a sparkler the previous evening) .  He plans today to take it to the repair store that we Googled to find to see whether he can purchase a new element to replace it.  Fingers crossed this works, I don't want to have to buy a new stove/oven.  Fixed puppy's dinner (bits of my seared chicken + Nutra-Ultra).

8:00PM Dad left and it had cooled off enough (it was 97 degrees Wednesday!) for puppy's walk.
  - I saw a couple of bats (which is a good thing!  There have been very few bats this year and that's disheartening because apparently the white-nose blight thing killing off bats by the loads in the Eastern U.S. reached this far south this year and bats are beneficial animals who eat mosquitos, so seeing a couple of bats out = good thing),
  - There have been a lot of fireflies out lately.  Lovely fireflies.
  - And puppy saw a bunny that of course she had to try to chase (and be perennially surprised that she's on a leash -- whu?!  But there's a BUNNY!  Don't you see that bunny!  Why can't I run after the bunny?!!).  She always has to go nuts over bunnies (and we always seem to have them in the neighborhood).
  - Ran into my neighbor, talked a few minutes and she introduced me to a new neighbor whose little daughter was out collecting fireflies (and eager to show the captured buggies to me, to another neighbor out watering his yard, and to her father) and who wanted to pet my puppy.
  - Returned home.  Removed to my study.

8:50-10:00 Not a damn thing on TV.  Watched a bit of a thing on Egyptian pyramids on History(2) channel but realized that I had seen it before. I know I must have watched something else as well, but beats me what.  Surfed net on Kindle. Turned on laptop.  Did nothing on laptop.

10:00 PM Walked puppy out to the back yard, let her do her business + her nightly wander around the bushes while I sat on swing w/ Kindle.

10:30 PM went to bed.  (lavender yoga-pant pj bottoms + white t-shirt) after setting sound machine (ocean waves+crickets+wind chimes), petted puppy who stretched out @ foot of  bed. :)

Not particularly exciting, huh?

Such is life. :)

Yikes! Definitely a problem. Hope you don't have to buy a new stove.

I haven't seen any bats in years but there was a honeybee on the front porch the other day and I had a nice chat with it. We used to have masses of bees in the yard and these days - not so much.

I know I must have watched something else as well, but beats me what.

I recognise that feeling!
