I'm happy the Supreme Court got one thing right in striking down DOMA!

That said, as a resident of the actual county whose suit against the Voting Rights Act was upheld by that same court, almost certainly setting Civil Rights back by decades (because we all know that the nut-filled House of Reps is incapable of functioning these days), I'm still beyond pissed with the Court.

BEYOND PISSED.

One step forward and one step back.

And Scalia is still asshole of the universe.

Oh yeah, ITA on voting rights. I would like to see Scalia and Thomas struck by lightning. I might actually believe in God if that happened.

LOL. This morning while reading the news, I totally had the thought:

Evidence that there is no personal micromanaging God: Scalia, Thomas, and Roberts haven't been struck by lightening.

Pretty much. I'm glad they reached the right decision in this case, but I hate that they're reaching the wrong decision in so many others.

Pretty much. In theory, I think that updating the formula with more current data is not a bad idea. In practice, Congress is too broken to do anything of the sort.
