The Amazing Race Finale

Yipee! I'm glad that Uchenna and Joyce finally won. Every time that they came in first they never got a prize, so I was quite happy that they won the big one. I like Rob and Amber, but they've cleaned up plenty. Between all the prizes on the various legs that they've won plus CBS televising (and therefore PAYING) for their wedding they probably racked up several hundred thousand dollars worth of wedding (Having their wedding at the Atlantis resort? That isn't cheap). So it's not like Rob and Amber didn't profit from this. So I'm all happy that Uchenna and Joyce got a pay-out as well. They were nice people who played in an admirable fashion. Glad they won. (And rather glad that Kelly lost big). TAR depends a great deal on luck, and U/J got luck when they needed it today (though going to the airport to beg FIRST rather than taking a lift to the onion shack probably wasn't the best choice. They could perhaps have gotten the first guy to be their Jamaica version of Romber's London Stuart.)

My roommate and I were whooping it up when Uchenna and Joyce met Phil at the finish line. The fact that they overcame having no money whatsoever when the other teams received $400+ was spectacular. Uchenna and Joyce had some amazing luck on the last leg, what with the pilot who opened the plane doors for them, the taxi driver who spoke Spanish at just the right moment, and people who gave them at least $40 right before the finish line. They certainly deserved to win, and I am happy for them. Yay!

It was just that U/J were so consistently nice that it was damn difficult NOT to like them.
