This second sales assistant was a little elderly lady and gave me the flabberghasted grandma look that said loud and clearly "One does not wear white after Labor Day." In fact she all but said that out loud also as her flabberghasted look was accompanied by "No, we never carry white pants this time of year..." Which no doubt explains why the national catalogue has them but the store I was in DOES NOT. The store's stock buyer is probably a precious little Southern lady raised on "One does not wear white after Labor Day" too.
