People Suck Sometimes

Cannot BELIEVE that there was controversy over the Coca-Cola ad during the Superbowl featuring "America the Beautiful" in multiple languages. Those people suck.

Superbowl beatdown was boring as hell though.  And I say that as a football fan.  Felt bad for Peyton Manning, but I like the Seahawks just fine so...  Too bad that the game was so lop-sided  (The commercials were also boring for the most part).

And the multi-lingual Coca-Cola ad sort of reminds me of the clip of Frozen I saw on I09 other day showing how Disney seamlessly dubbed the song in multiple languages.  (Really impressive as they managed to so closely match the voices it sounds like one singer).

I didn't watch the game but read about the controversy afterward. I cannot IMAGINE the mindset that would find that commercial offensive.

Xenophobia. That's all I've got. Well, that and racism.

stupidity+xenophobia/racism. Not a good combo.

Oh your ETA is amazing (even if Tumblr doesn't understand apostrophes... *g*)

But I'm not surprised. Remember people were upset at the Cheerios advert. (I still think Coca Cola is evil. But their ad people are incredible.) Also thanks for the Frozen song, that made my evening. :)

Fandom has its uses. :D

I always find myself completely agog when I hear about a controversy surrounding something I saw and gave no more thought to than, "I liked that," if I even thought about it at all. (Like that Cheerios commercial.)

People.

Yeah the initial Cheerios commercial especially. I saw it several times and never thought a thing about it. Then I read about the 'backlash' to it and it was a bit of a jawdrop of -- SERIOUSLY??!

Whenever I hear that argument, I think of this and smile.
