Ah - found it. More weirdness of the American Health Care system.
Mind you, in some ways we are as bad over here - women's sanitary products were made VATable as a "luxury product" when the tax was first introduced. Seriously???
And yet, when the sexism involved in these things are pointed out they are incapable of recognizing it (because they make sure to have an exception for this case so it cannot be used for OTHER religious things such as Christian Scientists and vaccines, Jehovah Witnesses and blood transfusions, etc. Nope. JUST birth control).
Personally, I think it's only a matter of time before companies and corporations start going off the deep end, trying to use this ruling to evade all kinds of laws in the name of their "sincerely held religious beliefs".
I was really pissed off and reading Ruth Bader Ginsberg's response to the whole shit storm when I saw a "where are they now?" thing for the kids in Harry Potter and began giggling because Tom Felton has a YouTube channel. And still plays racist assholes.
Plus, this decision only applies to female employees.
Plus, they claim to try to 'limit' it so that, say, Christian Scientists cannot refuse vaccines or Jehovah Witnesses cannot refuse blood transfusions. So, aparently, it's just so that corporations can enact rulings over female employees only.
Since when are corporations more 'people' than actual women are?
