Fanfic meme:

When did you write your first "fanfiction" piece? What was it for?
Hmm... what do you consider fanfic? I suppose if I'm 100% honest the first "fanfic" (I suppose it would be called that) would have been in 1990. When I left the US for study abroad my favorite soap couple was on the cusp of getting together. I pretty much left the country after a cliffhanger. In the next semester abroad I had no way of knowing what in the hell happened on the show so I simply... made it up. My Study Abroad travel journal is full of the stuff. It wasn't posted anywhere because it's several years prior to my discovery of the internet. Was there Internet fanfiction then? My first actual fanfic was still soap based. I was a staff writer on the Alternative Days of Our Lives. I wrote on that for about a year. I didn't know it was fanfic though. It was never called that in those days. The first time I wrote fanfic and knew it was fanfic was for Roswell. I was too intimidated to write XF fanfic because they were so exacting in that fandom so Roswell's was sort of XF-lite. I did eventually move into XF fanfiction though.

Did you actually post it anywhere?
Alt_Days still has an archive. Roswell fics are at Crashdown.com, X-Files is probably still on Gossamer somewhere.

What series have you written fanfics for?
Roswell, X-Files, Buffy

If you had the chance to have the original creator turn any of your fanfic into an actual real piece, which story would you choose?
X-Files "Mobius" which at least to me was a pretty good sci-fi story.

Any Original Characters (ones that got named) that you had inhabit the series universes? If so - who/where? Reggie in my Buffy "When Darkness Falls." I created him as a quick watcher joke but he just has a way of popping up and sticking around.

Do you have any weird music quirks that help you write?
I tend to pick music in the "mood" for my stories.

What are common "themes" you hide in your stories?
Most of my stories seem to revolve around acceptance... a character either accepting themselves flaws and all, or accepting someone else flaws and all, or accepting that life isn't perfect and never will be and that's okay.

What are your favourite characters to write POVs from?
Spike, Willow, Dawn. . .or weirdly Dru! I also had a decided affection for Roswell's Maria.

I find Angel's voice and Buffy's voice to be the most elusive. The only way I handle Buffy is that my Buffy makes sense to me, but I don't really think she's the same Buffy that's on the show. That Buffy's mind never makes sense to me.

What story of yours do you wish more people would read and love?
My X-Files fic "Mobius." It took me a year to write it and it remains one of my favorites. "When Darkness Falls" for Buffy is also one of my favorites but it's languished so long as a WIP that I can't possibly complain that it's virtually unknown.

If you could pick a specific scene of your story to be made into a comic-book/doujinshi format, what scene from what fanfic would you pick?
The Spike/Buffy scene in the alley outside the Bronze in "When Darkness Falls" or the Spike/Buffy fight on the docks in "When Darkness Falls."

And last but not least - why do you like writing fanfiction?
It tends to come from frustration with a show. I seem to pick up on stories the shows either didn't tell or didn't tell to my satisfaction.
