Woohoo! Sparklies is back up (though still on training wheels). I'm appreciating it because my old JM fan haunt has descended into wankerific nuttiness recently.

Plus... Sparklies is going pan-fandom! Not just Spike any more but all sorts of sci-fi genre stuff. Yeah!

It's not fully up and running but, hopefully it'll be fun!

ETA: And... yeah... I just posted a rant on BAPS. Probably shouldn't have, but JESUS! Get a little perspective! This has become ridiculous! Excuse me, but why in the hell do fans think they could manage the man's career better than he can, that they know what in the hell his priorities and needs are (or that they should even be privvy to them), and that the only possible jobs he should take are in something you want to watch (when everyone has a different opinion of what is watchable)?

You don't know what's best for him. You're not part of his LIFE. You're FANS, people, not Hollywood agents or his B.F.F.!

Heh. But they're now declaring open season on me. Apparently I'm mean about Joss, Marti, and SMG.

Of course the difference is, I DON'T CLAIM TO LIKE THEM!

When did being bitchy become confused with "I know better what my favorite fancrush should do than my fancrush does him/herself? He/She/It So DESPERATELY needs my advice!"

Ohh, I'm tempted to rejoin BAPS just to read your rant. Months ago I decided to take a short break, and I've never rejoined. Gotta a different sense of humor I think.

I loved your rant at BAPS.

You know, the SMALLVILLE fans are Squeeing over James Marsters coming to their show. They think he'll rejuvenate it and they couldn't have asked for a better actor. The only thing they fear are the James Marsters fans putting down their show because it's so beneath them.

I wonder where they got that idea?

Personally, I think the description of Milton Fine/Brainiac sounds like a far more interesting role than another cop/lawyer or playing someone's dad.

Also, Stephen DeKnight is there and he was my favorite writer for James.

You know, I don't doubt James will bring some energy to the show. Maybe he'll get them so interested that they'll want to see what Spike was all about. They'll be buying Buffy DVD's and joining the James boards to talk about him.

Yeah, with the stink some people are making you'd never know that Buffy was a low rated, teen show, on a weblet.

I mean -- sheesh!

I think Smallville has the opportunity to be kind of fun. And, hell, after all the angst people are spewing I'll be mean and hope his contract is extended!

Honestly, when the news first broke I was disappointed becaus Smallville lost me last year, but now? I hope JM kicks ass and takes names and ends up dominating the season. Twits.

Yeah. I mean, I was sort of hoping for an ongoing guest spot on 24. But, hey, I could see playing this villain as being fun for him. So, go JM. Be awesome. Have your contract extended... and DRIVE PEOPLE INSANE! (Not that they aren't already).

Loved, loved, loved your rant. Couldn't agree more.

Spike / JM fandom has become a very strange place. *shakes head*

Isn't it? And thank you. I just hit a point where my irritation was greater than my caution. At I didn't go Dawnie "Get out! Get out! Get out!"
