NEWS FLASH 7/25/05
Sorry for the late announcement (was on vacation) - Yes, James is set to play the recurring role of “Agent Dox” on the hit WB series “Smallville”. He is very happy to be working with the talented creative writers, producers and actors on this show. Thank you to all of you who voiced your support and (quite frankly) screw the nay sayers who think they know better :-)
To any of you concerned that this will affect the Toronto or London dates, don’t worry, James is contractually cleared for these dates.

After the "WTF crap" I've read since the announcement, to say I LMAO could be an understatement.

I loved that announcement!

Although now I'm a tad confused, because hasn't the WB been saying they were hiring him to play Milton Fine/Brainiac?

From what I've looked up, Milton Fine is the human persona of Brainiac (or the human he possesses... I suppose it's how they play it). Vril Dox is the alienesque version of him. "Brainiac" is just a nick name of sorts. (It's more complicated than that... but I'm too lazy to try to REALLY understand all the ins and outs of the comic canon).

Aha! Well, that explains my confusion... he's playing a character with, essentially, three different identities! :-p

Originally I think Vril Dox was the name of a Coluan whom Brainiac adopted as a son to add verisimilitude to his human disguise. (Or Coluan disguise, whatever.) Vril escaped and led a rebellion against the computer minds who ran Colu, and is the ancestor of Braniac 5 of the Legion of Superheroes.

But that was the continuity of twenty years ago, and I'm sure they've changed it all around since then...

Laughed when i read it.

Dear potential lover/mother/publicists for James Marsters,

Contrary to popular belief he does not need his hand held when crossing the street. Please stop with the rending of garments and postcard campaigns already.

Mmmmmkaythanks,

Steve Himber

Highly amusing. Though since I've read it I can't get that 311 song out of my head.

"And fuck the naysayers cause they don’t mean a thing
’cause this is what style we bring"

Oh well. Worth every repetition.
