shipperx: (Why so difficult?)
[personal profile] shipperx
Ugh!!! Day has started off badly. Overslept and ran late. Really late. An hour late. It's good to know that my new job isn't the clock watching hellhole like my old job. I'll end up having to stay late tonight to make up the time, but it is nice to walk in knowing that I'm way late but not worrying that someone is going to ride my ass about it. Still... ugh!

However, it's my short week, so this Thursday is the equivalent of a Friday. So, yay! Tomorrow off. That's a really good thing, since part of the reason I was up so late last night (and slept late this morning) was that I was desperately typing in Chapter Two of my Kinkathon fic. I'm running out of time.

For whatever reason, I've discovered that I write faster long hand than on the computer, so nearly everything I've written in the rough draft of my fanfic has been long hand in notebooks. First, I have to transcribe what I've written in notebooks into the computer. Then I have to read it and revise (because the notebooks are somewhat heavy on the 'note' and nowhere near ready to be 'book.')

I've been massively unfair and dumping the transcribed (but not read and revised) versions on my betas in the hopes of perhaps combining some of my own revisions and their suggestions on the second go-through. Right now, it's a messy process, and one that kept me up late last night as I tried to type in Chapter 2.

I'm seriously running out of time. I've given up any pretense of having the story finished by Saturday (bwhahahahaha! As if that's even a remote possibility), but I do hope to have the early chapters ready to post. I still haven't finished the (hand written) first draft of Chapter 6 but it's almost complete, so there is light at the end of the tunnel. Three romantic confessions, two sex scenes, one confrontation with the bad guys, and an epilogue to go. Whew! Think I can do the old "I think I can, I think I can" and convince myself that I truly can?

On TV news:

Dude, Lost was fun last night. It sort of reminded me of a few of the more quirky X-Files. What was the X-File ep where the guy had extraordinary luck? I suppose poor Hurley had the reverse. Still, Hurley funny. Got a cheap thrill from Charlie yelling "Bloody hell." And Sayid, pretty as always {hugs Sayid}. Also, damn, he does have chemistry with Shannon, doesn't he? This isn't fair because Shannon is not worthy of the hotness that is Sayid.

Also ended up watching Sex and the City reruns on...what channel do those air on? I'm too cheap to buy HBO, so I never saw the first run (sexier) version of Sex and the City and it's pretty much all new to me. I liked Charlotte's affair with the "ugly" guy. Sort of like him. Miranda seems rather bitchy in the extreme to poor Steve. And Carrie... Girl, I know you're supposed to be a fashion icon (and I know that in the season I'm currently watching they're trying to hide that the actress was pregnant), but you wear some damn strange stuff. What was with the whole white apron thing... in public? Odd. There are times when you make Willow's 'Dead Elmo' sweater look like a perfectly reasonable fashion choice.

Finally, I find I'm having a craving to buy DVDs (which I shouldn't since I JUST bought Season 2 Northern Exposure, and Season 5 AtS). But in addition to realizing that I still haven't bought Farscape: Peacekeeper Wars, I have a craving to buy the oldies but always favorites of mine, the Hepburn classics The Philadelphia Story (Hepburn, Grant, and Stewart dreamcast) and Lion in Winter (Hepburn, O'Toole, Hopkins dreamcast). I've seen both movies often enough to quote dialog, but I always find them enjoyable. Also wouldn't mind Bette Davis in All About Eve because it's a classic.

Finally, sheesh! I need to WRITE FANFIC FASTER! (Oh yeah, and need to draw a high school gym too...)

ETA: The morning is looking up. A brick salesman has shown up and is taking us out to lunch.
