Freaking Tempermental High-Speed Cable

I'm currently pissed at my cable provider. Computer was out Sunday night and Monday night. It came on last night... for a couple of hours, blinked off again and is STILL off today. And to call the stupid company you have to sit through half an hour of voicemail hell with a stupid computer voice explaining to you how to reboot the modem. If the problem was as simple as rebooting the stupid modem I WOULDN'T BE CALLING YOU PEOPLE!

Yeah, they never mention how often cable internet is off in the ads do they?

No, they don't warn you about the outages. Of course, this is why I continue to pay for freaking AOL (even if it's the Bring Your Own ISP version) so that when cable is out, I still have dial-up as a back-up.

I can't even do dial-up, because I use Cablevision for my phone now, too. So far my problems have been with the wireless router going wonky, though, so fingers crossed the cable modem stays healthy.
