Um...wow. Lost won?! I seriously thought Deadwood would win. In fact, from the sound of the crowd, they thought Deadwood would win too. Seriously, didn't EVERYONE look flabbergasted?

Oh well, yummy Naveen on stage.

Well, as Patricia Arquette proved tonight, the Emmys can be bought.

There's that much backing for Arquette?

I just figure it's all part of the inexplicable nature of the Emmies. Things like... West Wing and Will& Grace still being nominated. Caterwauling Star Trek Theme, and Kristin Bell doing fame.

I don't expect logic from Emmy's.

I mean, sure, I watch LOST... but Deadwood is the better written show. I suppose older board members could have been offended by a constant barrage of "cocksuckers!"

Deadwood is most definately the stronger show - better written and a uniformly excellent cast.

I'm shocked that Patricia Arquette won over Francis Conroy.

I voted for Deadwood in a TV Guide Online poll for what show should win best drama. When they showed the poll results as of my vote registering (don't know the final results, but presume similar), Deadwood had received the fewest votes by a wide margin. In fact, the margin between it and all the other nominated shows ranged from big to huge.

I just shook my head in amazement, and thought something uncharitable, like 'ignorant cretins.' I mean, I like Lost. I watch it on a regular basis. But neither it nor any of the other shows up for best drama are even in the same league as DW, as far as I'm concerned.
