I Ship Dead Guys

shipperxOkay, looks like I'm hitting a troika.
Way back in my high school/college days I was a huge Days of Our Lives fan completely addicted to the Jack and Jennifer ship. Back in '93, headwriter James Reilly came along and decimated the ship. I was furious and stopped watching the show.
Reilly went on to make the piece of crap "Passions," and a couple of years ago Days brought back Jack and Jennifer (in their better forms with Matt Ashford and Melissa Reeves). Their story was crap. The show is crap. I never did get back into watching it, and I haven't seen a single episode of Days in months. Still, it irked me greatly last night when I found that one of the first things Reilly is doing upon his return to days is to (almost certainly) kill off Jack. The character may have no story, but he has a hell of a history on the show and Reilly is a hack writer who I hold in complete contempt (more than certain persons in Mutant Enemy... which is saying a great deal).
Anyway, it looks life if I *ever* board a ship the guy must die. Jack will die. Crichton died. Spike died. Hell, even Mulder died a few times. Yeah, yeah Spike is back and Mulder didn't stay dead. And if they ever get a Farscape movie going (please! please! TV God's, PLEASE let there be a Farscape movie. It could just be on sci-fi. I'm not picky. ) Crichton and Aeryn won't stay dead either.
I'm just sort of peeved on principle.
Of course, this is still a heck of a lot easier to take than what Mutant Enemy has done to Spike because I'm actively involved in the BtVS/Angel fandom whereas my Days addiction passed into history about a decade ago. Still, Reilly proves he's still an ass and Days is screwing over a character for whom I have had great affection.
Then again, Days sucks and has for a long time now. I'm in no way surprised. They kill off Abe, Victor, and Jack (three of the men on the show who *can* act) and keep the alien twins. Typical. Glad I don't actually watch any longer.
