Go AWAY Joss!
Nov. 9th, 2005 03:58 pmGeez, just when I find some fanwanking peace with the Buffyverse here's Joss writing this:
Speaking of Darkhorse Comics, they are starting a new Buffy comic, and as I understand it, it will take place after the end of Buffy and Angel and be canon in the Buffy world. And I understand it that way 'cause I'M WRITING IT. I'm kicking off the book with a four issue arc that finds Buffy -- you guessed it -- living in Italy with The Immortal. (Scott -- don't be mad I spoiled the announcement -- saying it means I have to finish it.) Then I'll be overseeing the book more closely, to make sure it remains true. Gonna be interesting. And it just might tie in to...The infamous Spike movie...
Stay away, Joss. No, I mean it.
I really don't need you messing with the whole Buffyverse/Angelverse/Spikeverse. I've seen enough of what you write to know that you are interested only in advancing Buffy as 'ggrrrrrllllpwer princess' and bringing the pain. Since I alternatively yawn or am offended by Buffy the 'ggrrrrrllllpwer princess' and have had all the 'Joss loves the pain' that I can stomach, I'm now bored by you. Go away. I like the Buffyverse/Angelverse/Spikeverse where you left it -- wankable. I don't need you to make everything darker, uglier, and more tragically apocalyptic for the characters that I love while endlessly fluffing characters that I grew sick of ages ago (and no doubt giving them more mall and shoe-laced 'happy endings'.) I've seen your bag of tricks, and the "love the pain" schtick is so very, very, very old. And you will bring the pain. I know you will, because you enjoy fucking with fans minds. You actually buy into Buffy the 'ggrrrrrllllpwer princess,' and you have about as much empathy for the character of Spike as your run of the mill Duck does (and only a scant bit more understanding of what makes the character tick than they do [no, I have not now nor will I ever forgive Sparm. By that point even FURY was telling you that didn't fit the character and you couldn't grasp it. That pretty much sums it all up for me).
Please, stay away Joss. For the love of the universe you created, leave well enough alone.
