Aw... Romantic Sayid. Mm... Half-naked Sayid

Okay, yeah, those were my first thoughts of the ep. Shannon was also very pretty this ep and they definitely tried to work up the sympathy for her with the bitch-step-mom who denied her any money from her late father. I think they overplayed their hand a bit there because, I'd have to think that Shannon could have protested in some way. I did note that Jack crossed in the background when she went to see her father's body. Guess it's one of those things where Jack will never know that he inadvertantly screwed up Shannon's life. That doesn't really explain how Shannon v. 1.0 was such a spoiled brat, though. Or if it does, it's something of a stretch.

Oh and the Jossian -- love and sex = death. Man, that's Jossian cold. Have Sayid tell Shannon he loves her then they kill her?! (Yeah, I was spoiled. I knew it was coming. Still... poor Sayid. Poor Shannon since she was only doing what she thought was right.

And Ana Lucia... Sayid is SO going to torture your grrrlll pwr!11!! ass.

On other thoughts, they're definitely setting up an upcoming Charlie ep, and yeah, Charlie's attachment to Claire borders on the creepy.

Anyway... poor Sayid. Poor Shannon. But this has got to mean we'll get some buttkicking Sayid, so that's good, right?

Crap, I flipped over cause I was also trying to catch that misguided Jesus-freak woman hit the wall on FOX. Now I heard Shannon say to Sayid what she did about people leaving her (which, I cried, I had to. That stuff - any idea/phrase/song/whatever pertaining to loss - always gets me. I felt for Shannon, I did. WHAT?!) and the end of her telling Boone to just "take" his money, but I didn't catch what was said before S/S hugged and she ran to see Apparition!Walt or whatever else existed in what Boone was saying.

Got a run down?

Damn, you just want me to twist the knife, don't you?

She told him that he didn't believe in her. No one believed in her. He said that he DID believe in her. She said "YOu'll leave me. If we ever get off the island you'll leave me. Everyone leaves me."

Sayis frames her face in his hands and swears "I'll NEVER leave you. I love you."

They kiss. The freaky whispers, etc.

I don't fear for her...I'm rooting for Sayid to pull out the torture devices! :)

And Ana Lucia... Sayid is SO going to torture your grrrlll pwr!11!! ass.

God, I hope he kills her. I can't stand her.

On other thoughts, they're definitely setting up an upcoming Charlie ep, and yeah, Charlie's attachment to Claire borders on the creepy.

I wonder if Charlie is going to go all 'custody battle' with her over the baby. Creepy.

Guess it's one of those things where Jack will never know that he inadvertantly screwed up Shannon's life.

Eh. It's the fault of whoever staffed that ER, not Jack.

Okay, yeah, those were my first thoughts of the ep. Shannon was also very pretty this ep and they definitely tried to work up the sympathy for her with the bitch-step-mom who denied her any money from her late father.

Heh. I thought to myself, 'Ah, Shannon's actually sympathetic for once. She must not be long for this world.' As long as they don't kill Sayid, Sawyer, Jin, or Jack, I'll be happy. The women on the show leave me cold.

I don't think it's Jack's "fault" that Shannon's life got screwed but I think it's one of those "if a butterfly flaps its wings it causes a typhoon in Thailand" things.

And, yeah, Lost seems much better at creating complex male characters. I think as terrible as what happened to Shannon is, I went "oh, good, meaty stuff for Naveen!" And just to prove that its true, while I wish bad things on Ana Lu, I'm quickly growing to like Mr. Eko a great deal.

Yeah, Ana's all badass with her one bullet having gun, but now she's pissed off the ex-Republican Guard guy. Oh, fuck. If Sayid can keep it together, I'll be surprised.

I don't want Sawyer armless, I have to say. Jacky boy needs to do something, and fast. Something that doesn't involve a half-assed guillotine, anyway.

I really can't see them leaving Sawyer armless. Are at least they better not go there.

And Ana Lucia... Sayid is SO going to torture your grrrlll pwr!11!! ass.

God, I hope he kills her. I can't stand her.

Agrees with this Sayid I know is not going to take this lightly.

Sayid has my permission to do whatever the hell he wants to Ana Lucia.

I like Mr. Eko though. We can keep him.

Yeah I like Mr. Eko too.

No. No armless Sawyer. Shirtless Sawyer = Good. Armless Sawyer... not as much.

And, yeah, how horrible am I that my primary thought regarding Shannon's death was "oh goody! Naveen getts a good storyline!"

See, I don't think Charlie is creepy. It's more about his need to be needed now. That's kinda his post-junkie lifeline - if he's needed, he can abstain.

I agree, which is the whole point of Locke giving the "not stepping on toes" speech to charlie. He has to prove he's not a fuck up, he cares for Claire, she clearly need the help, so he's taking his role of baby helper very seriously. I think Locke gets that. *Locke bias! Locke bias!*

You have to admit it's walking a fuzzy line between infatuation and co-dependency... which, yeah, is kinda unsettling for Charlie but an interesting thing for Dom to play.

Date: 2005-11-10 03:52 am (UTC)
From: [identity profile] txvoodoo.livejournal.com
It's actually more complex than co-dependency - because she wouldn't support him in his addiction. It's delicate, though.

And yeah, I'm glad the role has some oomph for Dom.

I think it's a good thing overall because "Charlie" would run the risk of being all too cute without a little spice thrown in. This makes him more complex and a relapse is probably very true to Charlie's situation.

The real trouble for Charlie could start when Claire gets fed up with Charlie being all up in her grill all the time. Could end up frusrating for her, she sends Charlie off for a while, and HELLO temptation. I can't believe they're just gonna let the mountain of heroin lay dormant with a big junkie on the island.
Mwahaha...we'll see what they do with that.

Mountain of heroin! That could be scarier than The Others!

See, I think the underlying implication from Locke tonight is that Charlie already HAS dipped into the stash. That's why he was like "Recovering addict? Riiiiiiiiiigggghhhtttt."

Date: 2005-11-10 04:08 am (UTC)
From: [identity profile] tnmisery.livejournal.com
I don't know. I think if Locke thought Charlie had already dipped, he'd have taken him out on a magic fruit paste vision quest. My interpretation was that he just wanted to remind Charlie about the real responsibility and not push Claire too hard by forgetting his own very real, very dangerous and available shortcomings. Cut slack if you expect to be cut some slack, you know?

Assuming Shannon stays dead, this seems like quite a waste of her. The show has virtually no interesting women in the cast, and doesn't seem to want any.

They seem to have problems with female characters. Maybe they need to import a few more female writers. Libby hasn't been ruined yet, and I do like Sun...but they still need to develop Sun.
