Weathermen Lose Their Minds
Mar. 1st, 2007 09:22 amWhy do weathermen resemble Chicken Little? I swear if half the city isn't wiped off the map by a tornado this afternoon, then the weathermen are seriously overreacting. We've now been hearing 24 hours of OMG! There will be thunderstorms!!!
Cluebus. It's spring in Alabama. There will be thunderstorms and tornadoes. Those of us who live here are well aware of that, so unless there's something new to add like you've found a tornado on the radar and it's heading this way to kill us all, tone it down a little.
It helps to gage the level of danger when they don't go apoplectic over everything for days in advance.
And, given all the histrionics the local weathermen are having, this is all the weather pixie shows:

Unfortunately, south Alabama was whacked pretty hard by the line of storms. Enterprise was hit head on, destroying the high school and causing several deaths. They had cancelled school all over the place up here, odd how the schools in South Alabama were still in session. aol article
