Phone Conversation With Mom

Excerpt from a phone conversation this morning with my mother - re: Paul Ryan.
Me: He says that he bases his view of government off of Ayn Rand.
Mom: (alarmed) He bases his view of government off of Anne Rice??! Isn't she crazy?
Me: Not Anne Rice. Ayn Rand. Both of their books are way too long and filled with crazy, but entirely different kinds of crazy.
In retrospect, I should have said "Both wrote over-long books trying to make "heroes" out of souless assholes..."

Aug. 13th, 2012 07:13 pmJust got polled on the Presidential Election by Republicans Rasumussen Polls. Considering that I live in a solid red state in one of the most deep red counties in the nation, I don't think I was the targeted response that they were aiming for. ;)
