I made this joke, yesterday. Seems I wasn't the only one

With news that Disney has bought the Star Wars franchise, I pondered whether Boba Fett would show up on Once Upon A Time.  Looks like I'm not the only one (He and Yoda are leaders for who should crossover).  Come on, with OUAT's prediliction to give "bad guys" backstories, Boba Fett would make sense (y'know... if any of it does. ;P)

It’s stunning news: Disney has acquired Lucasfilm and will produce new Star Wars films. The cost: $4.05 billion (one can imagine George Lucas throwing on that extra .05 billion just for the hell of it). The move could goose interest in that live-action Star Wars TV series that Lucasfilm has sitting on the shelf (a full season of scripts were written, but the series was considered too expensive for any network). Or the purchase could further postpone a live-action series, since Disney will want to concentrate their firepower on making Episode VII, which is coming in 2015.

The acquisition does raise one potential TV cross-over possibility, though: Disney-owned ABC’s Once Upon a Time has been mining its parent company’s treasure trove of characters, and plans to continue expanding beyond fairy tales. Showrunners Edward Kitsis and Adam Horowitz are huge Star Wars buffs. Might a character, someday, somehow appear on the show? And which one? Presumably it would have to be a masked or non-human character to maintain continuity with the films, unless they wanted Mark Hamill playing a 60-year-old Luke…

Just read a review of the upcoming issue, so caveat:  I have not read the issue.  Salt grains.

But let me ask,  how screwed up has the philosophy of the 'verse become if a male manipulating and undermining a female Slayer for years, sic-ing the U.S. military on the slayers (with the U.S. invading Tibet/China) and topping it off with a glowhypnol spacefrak 'Universe rape' so as to metaphorically knock-up and birth a 'brand new world' is actually considered the 'good', right and valid option?!

The LJ Thing

Here is the deal. 

I'm used to LJ and my friends list is (mostly) here.  So I'm really reluctant to leave, and I have no real current plan to do so.  However, if I'm forced to endure ads, if they get rid of paid accounts, if I have no icons... well, then things will have changed. 

At any rate, while I'm not actively moving, I've long had a dreamwidth account just in case I ever need to do so. 

So, if anyone IS moving and would like to remain friends, I'm shipperx on dreamwidth.org as well.  It's always good to have a place TO go should I need to.
