* Things to know about having a day-off birthday breakfast at Original Pancake House in addition to having an actual birthday cake on a rainy weekend... you can gain three pounds. I will have to be good this week and next... so I can be bad at Thanksgiving all over again.

* Alabama played like they were slipping into a coma. Yeah, we won, but it wasn't anything very good.

* Auburn pulled off a miracle play this weekend. If you saw it, you know what I mean. Miracle. That means the Iron Bowl in two weeks will be a fight to the death. (Y'all just don't know how seriously this is taken in my state. The Alabama/Auburn game is a state holiday and a year-round taunting thing for the loser. With the SEC West on the line... yeah, people are going to be way, way overly invested in the Iron Bowl this year. (Note: Iron Bowl is not in fact a bowl. It's just the name that was given because up until about 20 years ago it was the in-state rivalry game that rather than being played in either home stadium was played in Birmingham instead. And once, back in the late 19th/early 20th century Birmingham was a steel producing town. This is where the "Iron Bowl" name came from. It is now neither a bowl nor in Birmingham (whose steel producing industry disappeared back mid-20th Century, but the name has stuck).

* Once Upon A Time. Okay, so were the spinning wheel ladies fates? I kept expecting them to be revealed as being The Fates (though there were only two and not three of them). They did teach Rumple to spin, though. And, truly, young Rumple was what? 9? Did they ACTUALLY think he was going to strike out all on his own? Worst Dad/Grandpa/Great-Grandpa ever. I'll be sad to see the Neverland arc completed, as I think it has been an improvement over last season.

* Finally got around to watching this weeks Vampire Diaries. Yay that we're down a couple of dopplegangers. The actors are not capable of making them feel different (though wardrobe does try). Looks like they'll be heading into a new phase of story now.
