Okay, I got the cyrillic out, but it STILL won't let me edit posted entries. Whenever I click the edit button it takes me to editing multiple posts. As soon as I pick a post to edit... it flips me back to editing multiple posts. It never actually allows me to edit a post.
ETA: Okay if I hit "STOP" in the middle it won't flip me to the other screen... but only if I'm in HTML. What the frilly heck has happened?

Best Selling Books By State
Mar. 10th, 2014 11:23 amSo, my take away from this is: genre sells.
From a glance it looks like it alternates between mystery, romance, and a genre mash of fantasy/horror/whatevs.

Weekend Stuff
Mar. 10th, 2014 12:19 pm* Nice weather this weekend, so that was nice. I even dragged out spring clothes and went to Old Navy to buy spring t-shirts.
* Finally saw 12 Years a Slave. Heartwrenching story, but I see why Gravity won more of the technical awards. 12 years was told in a very straight foward format (which was appropriate to the story). You could tell that it was actually filmed in the South because the landscape and housing looked recognizable. That's the way those old houses look, rather than as Tara. Though I question whether any plantation house had the pig pen in the front yard. Began to speculate that it was a production choice made both for metaphorical reasons and cost. Those plantations had plenty of land. That was the point. They wouldn't have had (or have needed to have had) pigs in the front yard (nor would many of the less prosperous plantations have been painted white. That was an an expensive thing to do in those days.)
Storywise, it's all incredibly horrifying and heartbreaking.
* Finally saw Star Trek: Into Darkness. Other than some amusing shout-outs (Chekov, do NOT change into a red shirt!), I felt oddly detatched from this one. It wasn't that I disliked the point of it or anything, I just think that, despite trying really, really hard with Kirk/Spock, that they didn't capture the relationships as well. I mean by the time that Spock died/was resurrected in the original timeline, there was a ton of background between these two characters. It felt a bit rushed the way it takes place in the reboot. It's relatively enjoyable, but... eh.
* Forgot to mention that I saw The Impossible last week. Liked that one and cried over that one too. Seriously, kids running towards Daddy or a small boy trying incredibly hard to be brave and grown up for his horribly injured mother is all heart-tugging material. As far as I was concerned the 12 year old stole that movie.
* Watched the premiere of Resurrection Gave me LOST vibes. It was a tad slow, but I'm interested enough to check in next week.
* Saw the Once Upon A Time 2nd half of Season 3 premiere. I rather enjoyed the Emma/David scene, the Snow White/Regina scene, and the Hook/Emma scenes. And I'm sorry I went to TWOP to read reactions because I swear that they suck the joy out of everything. Give the hobby-horses a rest, folks. The show is not going to hold grudges as long as you people do, nor is it going to hype-rfocus on whatever detail you are personally obsessed by (and there are an array of preferred obsessions, hence why it is IMPOSSIBLE for the show writers to satisfy ALL OF YOU). The writers are going to try to MOVE THE PLOT. Fanfic is great for getting long drawn-out moments of whatever bit of minutea that you personally obsess over, the show is. not. going. to. do. that. It's going to try to move plot for a bunch of characters as they have limited air time and a LOT of characters to service. (And they need to get over wishing Henry dead. They are not going to ax the KID in a family show by Disney! Just aren't. He's here to stay. Stop bitching about how the kid 'ruins everything'.)
Errr... *ahem* I got a bit opinionated there. So, anyway...
* I liked Snow convincing Regina that pulling out her heart over losing Henry would be the WRONG way to go (seriously, Regina. Remember your own mother. I can understand with the loss, choosing to 'go heartless' but Snow was right in that being the wrong direction.
* I also liked Snow saying that they needed to unite for the 'good of the Kingdom'. I'm for there not being backsliding. It's time to move the story on from a Regina/Snow vendetta, so I was pleased to see that Neverland truce continue.
* And I Heh, with Regina being in bitchy queenly mode when meeting Robin Hood at last. I've been looking forward to the pitfalls of this one, and hope that he doesn't fall quickly or easily for her. She's still going to have to change in order to merit a 'hero' such as Robin (though I do NOT understand why Robin is neutral to pro-Rumple. As far as Robin knows, Rumple was a guy who mostly tortured him).
* Hook gave some good puppy-dog-eyes over Emma. I'm feeling that pairing a lot more than I used to.
* Loved the Emma/David scene where they each realized that the other remembered, and they hugged. More Father/Daughter scenes please!
* Revenge is now duller than dishwater. I couldn't even be bothered to pay attention. Frankly, I do not care. Everyone can die in a fire as far as I'm concerned.
