True Blood... and other cable TV

I'm going to make the unpopular statement that I've enjoyed the last few episodes.

Oh, there's much that's wrong with the offhanded way they've offed series leads to get them out of the way.

And the Hep-V vamp stuff has been beyond dumb.

And they fly through plot points at lightning speed (because the plot makes no damn sense whatsoever).

And there has been way, way, way, way, way, way too much EmoBill and Civil War flashbackBill. (And I could care less about Bill/Sookie or Eric/Sookie or Eric/Bill/Sookie or Bill/Sookie/Eric or any permutation of that triangle.)

And the yakuza stuff is beyond annoying.

But, look, True Blood has always been a tremendous load of crap. ALWAYS.

But I've enjoyed the last couple of episodes BECAUSE they've been all fanservicey.

I'm sorry, but I have no problem with finales being fanservice-y. Fanservice-away. At least there's some satisfaction to be had.

There. I've said it. I've enjoyed the last few episodes.

ETA: Have now read spoilers for the finale. If they are accurate, I think I may get a migraine from rolling my eyes.

Have also been watching Outlander the last two weeks. Saw something about how the male lead of Outlander auditioned for Game of Thrones repeatedly and never got the part. After watching this week, I'm going to say I think at least part of it is because he's so damn PRETTY. Seriously, he LOOKS like he walked straight out of a romance novel...which is fine because that is exactly what Outlander is.

And there is something to be said for pretty.
