Okay, so I've long been a Jossian atheist agnostic. I suppose that's why my primary reaction to the spoilers is to roll my eyes. Unless or until I'm told otherwise, I remain convinced that it will all amount to a hill of beans. Which isn't to say that some of them aren't irritating beans, but still... just beans that in the end will ultimately leave the Buffyverse only subtly changed.

Joss likes to crow about sea-changes, then he just leaves things mostly the same. (See: Teflon Epiphanies, Oleander Epiphanies, playing to all fanbases in Chosen, a consistent pattern of plausible deniability with couples Bangels can't handle [but also cannot bully into non-existence], Angel being kicked out of hell after Season 2, and the endless good-bye of Season 3 without really cutting the chord on the ship, etc.)

My predictions for what will actually change (or not):

* Buffy will 'move on' and there will be some little indication that she'll connect with her friends and emotions better in the future (see Oleander Epiphany. It's the time for "Oh! The finale is here, she better learned something... that'll totally be undone at the start of the next 'season'...")

* Bangels will be given hope. Angel -- at least the really-real AtS one -- will remain much the same, untanished by Twilight-fail. I'm utterly convinced of that. He's a line of profitable franchise revenue. Plus, all the Bangels get to cling to the hearts and flowers of "maybe..." Even if Twilight bites the big one as the wrong-headed big bad, it'll be some alternative AU-version and the actual Angel is still wandering around uber-heroic in the Angelverse. "Hope lives."

* Spuffies will, as always, get the fuzzy end of the lollipop and a few spare cookie crumbs (It doesn't take much to satisfy Spuffies. We've grown used to being abused).

* Buffy won't be a bankrobbing, aircraft-carrier-owning Big Brother-ish 'General.' She'll resolve to connect or whatever. She'll be the hero. Wrongs will be righted, ethics-fail will be erased from memory. Oh, and she'll be 'free' to do whatever the hell she chooses and remain present-tense shipless.

Why do I guess these things? History. Joss makes noises about substantial changes, but he rarely makes them... at least not ones he can't mostly ignore next 'season' if he chooses to (even when he shouldn't -- see not-dead Warren). For all his vocal love of blowing things up and ripping hearts out (we see what you did there. Find some new tricks, m'kay), Joss usually leaves things with a final image... that if you think about it much is really just limbo.

I don't know how he's going to accomplish this. Many ideas come to mind, so here's a poll:
