Supernatural

I'm not a consistent watcher of the show (and even then my sporadic viewing is a relatively recent thing). Anyway, I saw the ep a few weeks/months ago with Crowley. And then, tonight listening to Michael speechify, I was again struck by the similarity in theme to Good Omens. Supernatural is the very non-comedic take on this. But just as the whole Crowley incident (along with the interstate exchange) seemed to have multiple hommages to the novel Good Omens, Michael's talk about fate also seemed to be inspired by the (in that case comedic) apocalypse in Good Omens. Someone on Supernatural's writing staff has quite clearly read that book (It's not the same plot, but there are definitely allusions to it).
