Sprained my knee this weekend and ::whines:: it hurts!
So in the Sunday TV category, Mad Men was far and away the better episode though perhaps a bit depressing.
First up, Peggy. Boy do I feel her. Been there, done that (not the naked working part and luckily it was at my last job -- that I quit -- and not the current one, but the
a)sexist co-worker who only thinks they're boss of you.
b)wondering whether you're the only one that does actual work around the place
c)ordered to work insane overtime
d)not given the creative credit
It's just... ::sigh:: too common. ::Pets Peggy:: I forsee a crisis coming up there. And we just saw Duck in the background. Wonder whether she's considering jumping firms.
On the Don front... that shit was painful. He stole 'creative' ideas from BtVS's Jonathan! And they were sucky ideas! And he didn't even remember doing it. Peggy had to point it out to him and tell him to fix it... after he'd treated her like crap and locked her in with an obnoxious sexist all weekend. Oh, and he hit on/got shot down by the blond woman in marketing (she was too smart for it) and he had a lost weekend where he didn't even remember picking up much less sleeping with some random woman. He BLACKED OUT! For an entire day. That is so not good. He's imploding and it's kind of pathetic. And he's proved, yet again, that no matter how much little Sally adores him, Don is really a sucky dad.
Joan looked gorgeous in her Marilyn Monroe flashback phase.
And I got a bit of a kick out of Pete's staging the 'Okay I'll accept Ken' thing by his seizing the seat at the head of the table, making clear to Ken that he was a partner.
And Lane does recognize that for all Pete's flaws, he's a hard worker.
Oh, and turns out that Roger never hired Don. He just got blackout drunk himself and Don lied. That probably shouldn't be all that surprising.
I'll get back to True Blood later.
