Being Erica

A few days late but I did want to comment.
- Weird reaction to the point of the episode. On the one hand, I liked Erica's realization about choices turning into actions and your actions becoming your character. (Could Erica somehow time travel her way to the Whedon comics where she could teach this lesson to Buffy and Angel who really, really, really need it, because super twuffy powers seem to have erased this bit of character/knowledge from their heads.) Anyway while I liked the realization that who you are is connected to what you do and what you do becomes who you are (And I liked how that tied in with Brent. I was fearing for a while that we were going to get some 'people become a bully because they were bullied' lesson, so whew! We escaped that). Anyway, while I liked those points I didn't actually agree that Erica's choice in the past actually fit that mold because, quite frankly, I was cheering her on. If what happened is what I think they implied happen, the dude deserved a hell of a lot more than a broken nose.
- I've mentioned before that I've grown to really love the Erica/Julianne friendship, which is funny because I loathed Julianne soooooo much in Season 1. (And I liked how they brought that sort of thing up this week with Julianne's "But I didn't like you then, Chicken." Heh. But I actually like how over the years Julianne has transformed from work nemesis to equal business partner who can openly admit that she needs Erica. (And I liked her boiling up to wanting revenge too, because, really, I understand why Julianne wants revenge on River Rock, though I did agree with Erica that it probably would be a bad idea. Still, I understand Julianne's desire to strike back. She was actually more harmed by the business at River Rock last season than Erica was so she should be angrier about it.) Anyway, two mutually supportive female entrepreneurs? Yay.
- Speaking of yay... KAI!!!
