Weekend TV
Apr. 20th, 2015 11:52 amQuickie comments. GoT- off book now. I actually laughed at the Bronn/Jaime scene which seemed to be there to not only set up story but to boldly announce to book readers that they very definitely have departed from the book in this area.
In the book Bronn marries Lollys and gets the castle. Lollys is not that light hearted (nor should she be) and she's the last remaining heir.
. So basically nothing about that scene is from the book. However
Jaime/Bronn road trip! I'm in.
Arya
Made it to Baavos, found Jaquen, and is enrolling in Essos' wax on wax off Ninja school and monastery.
Brienne
Actually got to speak with Sansa but got turned down. Still Brienne has found her mission and is going to protect Sansa no matter what. Since Bienne is off of her own book plot at the moment I wondered whether she is now going to be one of the 'spear wives' + Mance Rayder roles or take Asha/Yara's role (since we haven't a peep about here) or some combination of the above. (I vote a combination of the above to give Brinne the most interesting plot... But I'm not in charge)
Loved Doran and Ellaria.
And on the Dany front
I felt for her. Anything she chose would have fallout. She's struggling to do the right and wise thing. But no choice would be without fall out. Ruling is difficult and there's no 100% right choice. Every choice has a down side and choosing the least downside is difficult and in exact calculus. I don't doubt she tried for the best solution. But I almost feel that she's doomed to a bad choice no matter what option she chose.
Then... Dragon. Yay!
Once Uppn a Time. So... Cruella Devil was always evil. I guess you kind of doom your kid to evil when you name her Cruella Devil! (Why did no one ask her mom about that?)
And since the point was to turn Emma gray over killing a 'defenseless' villain, I wasn't surprised that they made sure to show Cruella as unambiguously crazy evil
Outlander
So Clair and Geillis got tried as witches, Clair confessed to Jaime that she's from the future, sexy sex,... And I kind of wish they had clarified whether Clair actively chose to stay with Jaime or whether the stones did not work. The show left that largely to audience interpretation. And why did the Laird turn so against Clair that he did nothing when she was being tried for a witch?
