Missive from lackluster fanning

shipperxIt is summer and pickings are slim fannishly.
What am I watching?
1). Watched Brad Pitt and Shia whatever in "Fury". It was sort of okay but there's something about many Brad Pitt movies (and Tom Cruise movies) that make me hyper aware that they are pitched at male hero fantasies.
2) Have been watching the summer series UnReal (written by Marti Noxen of BtVS and starring Shiri Applesby of "Roswell"). It mocks the manufactured sleeze of reality TV and The Bachelor. Not great but it's reasonably entertaining.
3). Poldark. Mitchell from Being Human (UK) in costume drama being very pretty and very broody and riding his horse along the coast with picturesque regularity. His Ross Poldark is generally well meaning but kind of a drama queen and his and Elizabeth's star crossed twu wuv is almost enough to make you feel sorry for Elizabeth's douche husband because the twu wuv is exactly that annoying. But the his downtrodden maid his so charming and he looks so damn nummy with his shirt off and the landscape porn is so picturesque that you go what the hell. Keep shirtlessly scything Queen Anne's Lace and other wildflowers for no good reason and I'll keep watching.
