Tom Cruise Creeps Me Out

From TVGuide.com:

GRIN AND BEAR IT?: Dotson Rader, who interviewed expectant parents Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes for Parade, reveals that "Holmes... seemed dazed, passive and vacant" during the sit-down. "She never stopped smiling... [even] as Cruise described how his father beat him." I'd say the New York Post sums it up best: "Creepy."

And in other Entertainment News:

EMINEM CAN'T MAKE FRIENDS: Eminem has filed for divorce from Kim Mathers, whom he remarried just this past Jan. 14 — four-plus years after they originally split and engaged in a heated October 2001 custody battle. The couple have a 10-year-old daughter together, Hailie, who's gotta be shaking her head over the whole sitch.

KEEP WONDER-ING: A prank posting on the JoBlo.com movie site spread like wildfire over the April Fools' weekend, leading many to pass along the "news" that Underworld 's Kate Beckinsale had landed the lead in Joss Whedon's Wonder Woman film. In actuality, Variety confirms, no one has yet been handed the golden lasso. So keep your chin up, Charisma!

Me: My advice would be -- don't hold your breath.

COURIC POKED BY POLL: Katie Couric may face an uphill battle as the just-christened anchor of CBS Evening News. In a poll conducted by TV Guide and the Associated Press, 49 percent say they prefer Couric as a morning-show cohost, while 29 percent say they'll prefer her in the evening. Couric, though, has the vote of no less than venerable news vet Walter Cronkite, who tells the New York Post, "I think she's highly capable and I'm absolutely delighted that she's come over to CBS." As for Couric's Today successor, Variety confirms that NBC is thisclose to announcing The View's Meredith Vieira.

Me: I have to admit... Katy Couric works my last nerve.

I think, at this point, Tom Cruise has replaced Michael Jackson as the world's creepiest celebrity.

That he has. I wonder how MI:3 is going to do this summer. Can special effects overcome just how much Cruise now creeps people out?

I hope it does terribly

I used to love Katie, until that freak got his hands on her :/

She always had the rep of being a sweet (but dumb) thing. I feel most sorry for her parents who seem to be horrified by what's going on but unable to get through to her (or through all of Cruise's money).

Well, let's face it. They do share the quality of being batshit nuts.

Not to mention the shared tendency of being sexually attracted to children.

Nicole Kidman seems to be enjoying herself now she has shed Tom.

And Meredith Vieira works mine. "shudder" I love The Today Show but if she gets on that... I may have to man the mute button a whole lot of the time...

Sorry. I saw Zap2it reporting that she already has the job. (I don't know what it is, but I don't watch morning news any more than the evening news).

I'm quite pleased that Katie is heading out. I used to watch the Today show, but she drove me away with her annoying commentary and the distance shots of her shiny legs the camera folks used to do. Ugh. I don't watch CBS news so she can go there without offense. Meredith Viera, I'm not too familiar with, so here's hoping for good things.

Katie Holmes is being brainwashed. I hope someone saves her soon.

Does she have a brain to wash? Rumors has been that she's quite sweet but very dumb... in short, perfect Scientology nutcase bait. Fear for this child. At best it can only have substandard IQ points and then raised in Scientology non-education? ::shudder::
