MySpace.com will begin selling past episodes of Fox's 24 next week, for $1.99 each, the Wall Street Journal reports....

Well, depending on how quickly they make them available... it could be worth it, as a legal alternative to downloading them using BitTorrent (you know, if you've missed an episode).

That seems to be the going rate, though I think it's way too expensive. They get more money and we get less product. Phooey.

They should offer the whole season for download at the same time episodes are broadcast and a DVD set when published for $50.

That would sell a lot of subscriptions and make a boatload of money for the studios (roughly $30 to $40 additional profit each for a few hundred thousand possible sales).

Selling individual shows for $1.99 will have about $0.50 making it back to studios after transaction fees and folks will buy only the ones they don't see on teevee.
