Supernatural got renewed, Everwood got axed

USA TODAY  Veronica Mars, One Tree Hill, Supernatural and Girlfriends will join the new CW network replacing UPN and WB this fall, but Reba and Everwood are gone. Top-rated 7th Heaven has been revived for an 11th season, despite last week's "series finale."  

Personally I'm shocked that One Tree Hill was renewed. I'm very, very sorry that Everwood wasn't because it was a classy, well-acted show that was treated like crap by the network as they shifted it from crappy timeslot to crappy timeslot. Supernatural... well, come on, I enjoy some campy good fun with pretty men. And is 7th Heaven the show that WILL NOT DIE?!

How 7th Heaven with bad writing, bad acting, and heavy overtones of racism and sexism (a triple threat) hangs on forever; but Everwood never really caught on is beyond me.

And on some news program I saw that their series (now season) finale was a twin population explosion. Oh, the horror.

Well, since the only show I watch on the WB is Supernatural, I'm glad it got picked up. If they put out the S2 VM DVD this summer, I'll catch up with it and hopefully be able to watch S3 - it depends on scheduling.

I haven't watched Supernatural consistently, but it's been amusing to me.

As to VM, I've yet to develop a taste for the show. I'm 'meh' on it.

I watched the first season of VM on DVD and I thought it was okay, but I wasn't wild on it like some others on my flist seem to be. I'm perfectly happy to wait until the show comes out on DVD and then watching it.

I really like Supernatural because it's the closest thing I've seen to BtVS. Plus the lead boys are v. v. pretty. ;P

My roommate watches Everwood on a semi-regular basis, and she was very sad to learn that it was canceled. However, when she watched the so-called series finale this week, the WB advertised a new two-hour series finale coming in early June. So, I guess once they canceled the show and realized the original finale had a cliffhanger ending, they decided to film another finale tying up all the loose ends. (I find it interesting that a great many WB shows went for cliffhanger endings this year. I guess they figured it would boost the chances of renewal for "on the bubble" shows.)
