Stuff at Work...
It looks like we have a carpet quilt down the main hallway. We signed a new lease so the office is to be painted and re-carpeted. Unfortunately, we can't decide on a carpet. Or, I guess, to be a bit more truthful, I can't agree with the carpet my boss liked and then Howard (our interiors person) doesn't agree with me, and no one in the office agrees with any of us. So day after day I order more samples from different companies we lay them in the hallway (we have about 18 feet or them now) and go back to not having a decision. (I also have the on-going debate with Davis about what colors are "in style" at the moment. He says the colors I'm picking aren't. I argue that they are... he's just 10 years out of date--and I've never agreed with any color selection Davis has ever made on a job so I don't worry about disagreeing with him. I still regret giving into him on Auburn Medical Park where I let him choose some aquamarine color for the inner part of the fountain. I've always thought it was hideous ... just as I think the mauve in the office is hideous.
Because I have SoapNet and Nothing Much Comes on at 7pm...
I really just do not understand Kendel Hart's plot on All My Children. Most soap plots are transparent as all hell, but I just don't understand what Kendel is supposed to be doing. She claims she married Michael even though Michael was dead at the time and she's doing it because...? She says it's the money, but of course that's clearly not the reason because she's never going to get that money and if it was about the money, wouldn't she be making a bee-line to Ryan? And the whole thing about protecting Bianca... again... huh? How is setting herself up to look like Michael's murderer protecting Bianca since Kendel has been basically the only suspect for the murder since the beginning. And what REALLY confuses me... how is claiming that she married Michael and that she's pregnant supposed to "clear" her of Michael's murder? None of this makes sense to me. It seems a real muddle. None of this ties in, but they may as well be painting a target on Kendel's head these days because clearly they're setting up something awful to happen to her so everyone can eventually be sorry that they're being so horrible to her. They've had her mother and her best friend turn on her already. (Although Erica turn on Kendel three times a week so that doesn't begin to matter.) Hmm...I wonder if I watched the show more than twice a month whether I'd have a better idea about what the hell Kendel is trying to accomplish. :) (And yes, I DO like Alicia Menshew's Kendel better than Sarah Michelle Gellar's).
Iron Bowl Week
For all those who did not grow up in this state, we're heading for the state's unofficial holiday-- the annual Auburn/Alabama game. Of course I win either way. I root for one team and graduated from the other school so I'm always happy. The sad part is, I'm probably going to have to watch it alone (for some reason I always feel weird watching football by myself. It's seems such a non-female thing to do. :) No parties planned that I know about, and family will all be in Florida this weekend (but I can rub in the fact that I'm the only one with guarenteed cable. The beach house may not have ESPN).
Bizarro Weather Again...
Okay, for all of ONE day last week, it felt like fall. Then I had to turn the air conditioning back on again. It's mid-November, shouldn't I be able to leave the air conditioning off by now?

Angel spoilers
First of, insert ubiquitous ranting about how "Angel" the series is using Spike. Make sure to add in the part of my not trusting Mutant Enemy even the tiniest bit. (Be sure there is a great deal of bitterness and disgust in this distrust).
Okay, with that out of the way. My feelings about how this all screws Spike over yet again aside, the choice of returning Lindsay to the plot is actually a good move on Mutant Enemy's part. The reason I say this is not because of any great CK lust. It's because Lindsay was always a fairly gray character. With the way that Lindsay left, even knowing that Lindsay is back and manipulating things we're still left questioning what's going on and what is Lindsay's real agenda. It's possible that Lindsay is working for the bad guys. He was once part of Wolfram and Hart. It's possible that his "Dead End" redemption took and he's trying to do something that he perceives is a just cause (ala Cigarette Smoking Man or Scorpius). Or he could just really, really hate Angel. It's entirely possible that Lindsay is a wildcard with a plan and a real taste for vengeance. The fact that it's Lindsay is what quickly leads us to all of these questions, which is why he is a good choice for the role. No one but Lilah could have the same ability... and perhaps not even Lilah. Plus he has a history on the show. All in all, it's a nice twist to have him show up as the puppet master.
... still fear how this screws Spike though. I hate the way Spike is always but always screwed (and don't tell me Angel is constantly screwed too. Yeah, Angel suffers, but I haven't had to sit through seeing Angel crucified, turned to dust, or have his hands chopped off. And, no, having a nightmare in Ep 10 is not the same as having his hands chopped off. )
