Icons go poof.

LJ screwed up on automatically charging my account. They suspended my paid account and erased about 100 icons.

Weirdness? They CHARGED $1.00 to my account! So it's not like the card didn't work. It worked. They just didn't charge what they were supposed to!

Other weirdness, I have one other $1.00 charge on my credit card, and I have no idea who this person is or what the charge might be. And it's a $1.00 charge. How bizarre? I've flagged it with my credit card, and I've written LJ that whatever the problem may be, it's THEIR problem. But it's irritating as all heck.

ETA: Further weirdness, when I checked my credit card statement this morning both the Live Journal payment and the weird $1.00 payment to an individual are gone.

ETAII: Well, at least LJ brought back all of my icons.

ETAIII: LJ wrote back, cried mea culpa and credited back bonus time. Still, none of this inspires confidence.

I would keep a heads up. They straightened the whole thing out, but they also admitted that the entire snafu was their fault.

This is making me very glad I threw my logic and reason overboard and got a permanent account, even though it would take several years before it would justify itself.
