Ratings report from Zap2it.com

*   The premiere of "Heroes" (8.8/13)[... {won its timeslot} and]  was the night's top show among adults 18-49

*  "CSI: Miami" easily won the 10 p.m. hour for CBS with an 11.5/19. NBC's "Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip" fell from its premiere, averaging 7.5/12.

*   A second "Wife Swap" posted a 5.3/8, moving ABC ahead of FOX and "Vanished." The premiere of "Runaway" on The CW struggled, managing only a 1.5/2.

Amateur armchair handicapping/analysis:

"Vanished" and "Runaway" are most probably not long for this world.

"Heroes"
had a respectable first showing.  We'll see what its drop-off is next week.

'S60'
had some drop-off from last week, but it's still in 'solid performer' territory.  However, it's not a break-out hit.

Does anything look like a breakout hit this season? I realize most news shows are still premiering, but nothing seems to be burning up the Internet or have everyone talking.

I think there were a lot of expectations for Studio 60 (and I'm betting that if its ratings don't rise, the cast will be trimmed because they have a damn expensive cast and to make it economically feasible at that rating, they can't have this many relatively expensive people sitting around mostly twiddling thumbs for a show that focuses primarily on Perry, Whitford, and Peet.)

That said, I think most networks would be settle for workmanlike ratings. Nothing seems to be an out of the gate 'hit' like Lost or Desperate Housewives was three years ago.
