How many more days until the elections? Can I just scream about the goddamned electronic phone calls begging to vote for some candidate.

Cluebus, campaigners, it just pisses people off to answer the phone and find that it's some political ad!

That was one other really nice thing about being in England for two weeks... that was two weeks of avoiding those stupid automated phone calls!

We have one local candidate who earned a few points in his favor by actually listing "So-and-so for Senate" on the caller ID, so I knew right up front what sort of call it was. All of the others are coming from unlisted numbers.

Which is exactly why yours truly screens all her calls. I let the answering machine pick up everything and when I get home I just delete the political calls once they start up and if I'm home I just pick up the receiver and bang it down which stops the spew.
And when watching any television channel with commercial time at this time of year I keep my hand on the mute button for immediate action should there be a commercial break.
Is it November 7th yet?
And btw, I don't know of a single person who likes these ads yet I read of political pundits who claim they are effective. Who are these people ?
