From Wrongda:
Man, the Angel peeps are restless today! Okay, here's Cordy's storyline, according to Charisma: "The 100th episode is about....well, we need to wrap up Cordelia. It's very important that we bring her out of the coma and justify her -- situate her. Basically, Cordelia strikes a deal with the powers that be (they owe her a favour) to get Angel on track because Spike has come back, and in doing so has created a lot of self doubt. And Cordelia asks the powers that be to give her this last favour and let her go get Angel on track. Then she leaves. She's in, she's out".
God, this just PISSES ME OFF! And I'm supposed to think that Angel's wussy ass is BETTER than Spike?! Why in the hell does Angel always get a freaking helping hand from the powers? Always. Does it ever strike Mutant Enemy that if they write Angel incapable of of kicking his OWN broody butt into gear then maybe he really ISN'T the deserving champion?! No one (except Fred) has EVER tried to help Spike. He's done ever freaking thing on his own with damn little credit, but Angel gets powers dragging him out of the gutter and Cordelia yet again going out of her way to help Angel's ungrateful butt.
I'm sorry but if they do this then ME will have unintentionally confirmed for me that Angel is no Champion and is undeserving of any of the "special" treatment they slaver all over him. He just gets more helping hands. If he manages to motivate himself what the hell kind of "hero" is he?! Gah!

Date: 2003-12-08 06:44 pm (UTC)In a way, this makes me sad, because I'm still bummed at all the wasted potential in Spike's story, but on the other hand, they've turned him into a shell of his former self (and like everyone else on AtS, completely in service to the Great and Powerful Angel), so, meh.
The only thing that would please me now is if the remaining show tanks hard, and Joss's masturbatory "Firefly" project evaporates as it was meant to long ago. As others have said elsewhere, that would make me laugh and laugh.

Date: 2003-12-08 07:20 pm (UTC)I read the ep summaries and I think to myself 'Wow were these shows always this bad and I just didn't see it?' Exactly what I expected has happened -- Spike is just a shadow of his former self. You know its a sad day when they are forcing Spike into flashback eps just so that he's on camera, even if it has no real plot or characterization value.
It would have been so much better to have just let him rest in peace -- a hero -- than to have returned him to life in this totally lame excuse for a storyline. I think AtS jumped the shark after the Holtz storyline; last season had a lot of problems, much like BtVS S6 did; and AtS S5 is starting to resemble BtVS S7 in its inability to get things back on track.
It's quite clear that it's now The Fury Show and he's just not cut out to be a showrunner. He lacks the vision for a story that can really engage a larger audience. Most people are interested in watching him wank Angel off.
