Heh. So true. This is why I'm reveling in the schadenfreude over the imminent demise of Veronica Mars and, in a lesser sense, Joss Whedon's lousy post-Buffy fortunes -- it's almost like seeing a loathed ex-boyfriend fail at life. It's also why I treasure shows like Rome, Farscape, Deadwood and (even though this is with reservations) The X-Files, because they're like the boys who rarely disappointed me and usually made me happy. Strange, isn't it?
I confess I gave Gilmore Girls the "It's not you, it's me" speech last year (though really it was them). And if you think Rob Thomas is bad, check out how the producers of GG treated fans. They almost make Joss look good.
And I love Farscape's Kemper, O'Bannon, & Henson more and more every day. I always felt they respected the fans, and constantly tried to make their show better and better, nevering settling. I love them so much I want to hug them, and kiss them, and call them George.
That was amusing. Yes, I've broken up with Lost, but then, occasionally, I'll go back for a single episode. It's like having a one night stand with an ex-boyfriend. *g*
When they were talking about loss when a show goes off the air, I immediately flashed to my total and abject depression when I learned that the stupid WB canceled Angel. Dude, seriously! I was in mourning, which probably explains my giddiness over the idea of a S6 comic. *g*
