shipperxWow. Tonight really was about the pain that people cause each other in relationships. Everyone was breaking each others hearts.
Poor Landry with Tyra's secret, desperately wanting to help her and not knowing how. He did do the right thing by going to Tami. He was right to go to an adult, a compassionate one who could try to help. So poor Landry was trying to help, and Tyra really bit his head off. And it's impossible to resent her because she's in so much pain. She's reacting like a hurt animal and lashing out at poor Landry. I ached for Landry's hurt as she insulted him, but it also was heartbreaking because her own pain at the rape attempt was so very apparent. (Tami did do the right thing in forcing Tyra to go to the police.) Very good of her to go and give him a sincere apology at the end though (pats show. good show). Aw. You know, Landry/Tyra are such an odd couple (Actually they sort of remind me Jason Katims -- who is headwriter of FNL-- aborted Season 1 Roswell ship of Isabel and Alex. I actually kind of liked Isabel and Alex).
Then there was poor Lyla who first has to deal with her parents getting a divorce because of Buddy's serial adultery, then her finding Jason in full snog with the blondie tatoo girl. (Who, BTW, I like and who I think is better for Jason than Lyla). But, while I kind of like Jason/blonde tatoo girl, it was also easy to understand Lyla's tired reaction of 'it's over' and throwing the ring. Lyla's world has pretty much fallen to bits and the poor thing is decompensating.
Then Tim and the MILF where the MILF tells Tim that they really have to stop this totally inappropriate affair... leaving Tim to break the poor obnoxious tykes heart by saying they won't be hanging out as much any more.
Coach was also kind of hard on Tami with his choices and not listening to her. No doubt that he and his wife love one another, but sometimes you hurt the ones yhou love, because that's life. That's what happens. And it's not about villains. It's just... hard, sometimes. And tonight was hard for so many of the characters (and its depicted quite beautifully with earnest performances, and lovely writing. And this is why the show is such a stellar show).
