Kitty Update

They did the lancing yesterday and, once the drugs wore off, Carly was allowed to return home. She seems to be feeling better as she's acting far more like herself. She jumped into bed last night to be cuddled and again this morning. Unfortunately, right now the poor baby has baboon butt. They shaved her rear and it's still swollen and a little red with the where they cut her. She's also not particularly appreciative of the antibiotic drops I have to give her. She seems to have lost weight and is being very finicky about her food so I hope her appetite picks up, but as far as general demeanor goes, she's behaving much more like herself again.

It'll take a few days but she'll be back to normal. And the hair will grow back although Sis' cat had the hair grow back as a slightly different color - weird.

Carly is already mottled in color so that part shouldn't be a problem.

It was so sad to see the poor thing so weak. She seems to be much more like herself again.

I expect the antibiotics she's on are effecting her appetite. But despite the soreness and the swelling, she must be feeling a whole lot better, evidence of her jumping and snuggling up with you. I'm so glad she's on the mend.

I thought antibiotics might be part of it. I know that taking antibiotics on an empty stomach always makes me nauseous. She does seem to be much better. Hopefully the infection won't reoccur.

The vet said it was probably her anal gland, but the nurse after the lancing seemed to imply that it wasn't, so I'm not sure any more.

Hope you kitty doesn't suffer with it much.
