SMG on Fashion Police

While flipping through channels while dressing this morning, landed on "Fashion Police" which basically judged red carpet outfits.  Personally, I thought they were really harsh on Jody Foster for the sin of wearing the same dress twice in the last year.  Oh!  The horror!  (And it was a pretty dress).  I think this "fashion sin" actually made me respect Foster more because you know that dress would probably cost in excess of $10,000 retail (not that stars pay retail).

Anyway, up popped SMidGe who did, in fact, look quite good.  Hair sort of blonde and in a nice updo, lovely outfit.  Nice legs.  Great shoes. Then, they did a close up and...  Holy crap, woman, EAT A SANDWICH!  Her chest was... where her boobs used to be, because there are no boobs there any more.  

On the whole, she looked really good, but damn she's reached extremes in thinness.  

Hollywood is insane.

Trouble is during the last few seasons of Buffy she was starting to get that way. I dread to think what pressures she's under to do this.

I think Hollywood's standards have gotten nuts. I remember when Ally McBeal came out and Calista Flockhart was considered to be shockingly thin. Now 90% of the actresses are as thin as she was then. Now she is the Hollywood norm.

The thing that actually bothers me is that clearly it's not her natural body type. When she was younger she actually had some curves. Now she's as thin as a stick. It's become the Hollywood standard to the point of being way too extreme.

You know, when I watched her movie The Return (dreadful movie, BTW), I thought she looked absolutely awful, very drawn and old. I hate it that these pretty girls (Angelina Jolie is looking like death, if the tabloid pictures are correct) make themselves so damned thin.

I wish the trend would go back to what it used to be -- which was STILL skinny. But I noticed a few weeks ago that when looking at Season 1 friends Courtney Cox and Jennifer Anniston -- who were THIN then -- look positively pudgy when compared to their current selves. These actresses must live off of air and caffiene.

I have a theory that the popularity of of babyfic is due to the subconsious need to give the girl some body fat.

I've noticed that a lot of fanfic mentions her gaining a few pounds, not as a negative thing but as a positive. I think a lot of people reached the point of wanted to hand the woman a sandwich.

If your referring to Maxim cover shoot, it seems like desperate attempt to promote ST with all the unfavorable reviews comming in. I did find her comments about being scrappy fighter & drinking all night in jacuzzi hilarious since itsnot an genuine reflection of what her evenings are really like.

I haven't seen the Maxim cover or the article. This was just some random E! Entertainment or Style Network thing where they had snippets of celebs at awards, premieres, or charity things. Not sure which this was. Just somewhere dressy w/ paparazzi. It was candid video. The outfit she wore was quite pretty and her hair looked great. I was just shocked by the prominence of colar bones and how tiny her arms were when they had a close-up. She is teensy right now.
