Femmenerd's post about pre-DVD TV (that since has been released on DVD) reminded me of Northern Exposure. This brought on a wave of nostalgia for NE's cock-eyed magical realism and sent me to YouTube to see if someone had posted clips. And, it being YouTube, someone has!
Joel Freaking Out
Adam ranting
Holling and Maurice
Ed and Ruth-Ann
Maggie fantasizing Joel's death...
Chris's voice overs and performance art
Joel and Maggie finally do it (lol)
Joel's Series Exit...
And the end of the series as a whole (And, yeah, after Joel's exit, they eventually paired Maggie w/ Chris so she ended up w/ him in the end).

He was by no means the only character I liked, but his character was a key ingredient in the magic of the whole. Without him the magic fizzled. J & M had real chemistry. There was no descernible chemistry between her and anyone else - from my perspective anyway.
