Heath Ledger Died Today

How terribly sad.  He was very talented and quite young.  And doesn't he have a young daughter with Michelle Williams?  It's tragic.

NEW YORK —  Actor Heath Ledger was found dead Tuesday at a downtown Manhattan residence in what authorities say is a possible drug-related death, the NYPD said. He was 28.

NYPD spokesman said that Ledger had an appointment for a massage at the Manhattan apartment that is believed to be his home. The housekeeper who went to let Ledger know the masseuse was there, and found him dead at 3:26 p.m, Browne said.

The Australian-born actor was an Oscar nominee for his role in "Brokeback Mountain" and has numerous other screen credits.

Very sad indeed. I thought he had a lot of talent and expected him to be one of those younger actors who stick around and have a long and successful career.

I'm still in shock. He had so much talent and, with a child, so much to live for. I hope it turns out to be a stupid drug-related accident, not suicide. But either way, he'a gone.

It is sad, it might have been an accidental overdose, and from what I was reading he was also suffering from pneumonia. It will be weeks if not months before we get autopsy results. It might have been a aneurysm for all we know. Or he was so far under with a sleeping pill he could have accidently suffocated himself.
