Actually, someone on a different LJ wrote in comments that the date on the headstone is the date of the Oceanic crash. So Jin died when the plane crashed? Uh, no. Something is fishy here, which I hope to God means that he got stuck on the island and IS NOT DEAD.

Well, I figure we will know by the end of the season, don't you think? Because if the date on the tombstone was the date of the crash, that means that he died on the Island. That implies to me that he did something to save Sun and the baby so that they could go home and live. Perhaps we'll find out that he was left, not that he died. Or as you say, Sun thinks he's dead but he's not. My impression is that we find out this season how they get off the Island so it should clear up what happened to him (at least to some extent). The last season may be one big surprise as we find out all sorts of things that they've mislead us about. I'm praying that when Jack makes it back, Jin is there.

No one is commenting much at Regina's suicide and the cabin fever thing. Could that be what happened to Danielle's team?

Even in 'not denial' terms it could make sense storyline-wise as I do believe they're supposed to be getting off the island this season. But just because 6 get off the island (And if we have 6 off the island, who was in the coffin? Someone not from the Oceanic flight? Or {gulp} Sayid? ) Anyway if we have six off the island, I would think that there would be others on the island that we'll also see (Locke is pretty close to a given. Since Sawyer probably isn't the one in the coffin, quite possibly Sawyer. And I wouldn't totally rule out Jin.)

It would make sense plotting wise if there was as much a drive to go back as there was to leave. So motivation-wise, I see where it's possible to plot toward a Sun/Jin reunion, especially since death is such a fuzzy thing on the island.

I'm sort of clinging to the karma conversation. Yes, we can take the karma conversation that his 'good karma' ensured the healthy birth of the baby, but we could also interpret it to mean that somehow, someway Sun/Jin will have a happy ending.

Unless or until proved otherwise, I'm sticking to that belief.

Seriously, there has to be SOME reason to watch the next two seasons, so they can't just kill everyone off that is loved. Who the hell is going to tune in to watch what happens to Kate or Claire?

Unless they are banking on Des/Penny to carry them through.

I love Des/Penny too, but I think they can deal with her evil father. I want Jin/Sun to have a happy ending... because I sure as crap don't care who 'wins' Kate as she isn't much of a prize. Claire is a bit of a non-entity.

Basically, I've resigned myself to Sawyer coming to an unhappy end and only want a redemptive death. Juliet is in much the same situation as Sawyer. Locke has got to come to an unhappy end as he's going all Kurtz/'Heart of Darkness' on us. And I know ABC tries to sell Jate as the twuest of twu OTPs, but I honestly don't give a crap about the duo. I want Des/Penny and Sun/Jin to have some sort of happiness, and I want Sayid to get out alive. If I get that, I'm good.
