You know, there was something quite endearing watching the U.S. Men's Gymnastics team -- all Olympic neophytes,  populated by first and second alternates who didn't even initially make the team -- being so openly thrilled and joyous about winning the Bronze Medal.  It was worth staying up until midnight to see their happiness.

(And the Chinese gymnasts were astounding and clearly deserving of Gold)

I was so thrilled for the guys when they won Bronze. Alexander Artemev had an outstanding night...I was so pleased for him and for Raj.

They had huge underdog appeal and seeing them so happy to have pulled out a medal was a definite feel good moment.

I didn't see the competition, but I caught the team on the Today Show this morning. I would have thought they'd won gold with how thrilled they were!

It was wonderful to see that kind of happiness over a third place win. All too often the "seasoned" Olympians are disappointed to the point of anger over anything less than first-place. Them, I just want to shake and say, "You didn't lose the gold; you won the bronze!" I'm glad these guys can see it for the huge accomplishment it is!

They probably have parts of it on NBC. It was so cute when they realized that they'd actually won Bronze. They were simply thrilled

It's good to see the underdog alternates not only allowed to compete but to medal.
