I'm astounded by the people who are NOT watching this obsessively, the way I am. How can they not care about what's happening? It's going to affect us all, probably in dire ways, for years to come.

Basically an effing "gambler" politician is playing games with our stock market. For a measly point or two in the polls, he's willing to throw out financial bombs such that he thinks he can change the political stage from his sucking wind to his being some frakking knight on a white charger...when in fact, he's just doing whatever he has to to GRANDSTAND and POSTURE and distract attention from the fact that his running mate cannot even speak in complete sentences!

Bastard is gonna cost regular people real money today as the stock market crashes (again) because he wanted to try to change his poll numbers!

What kind or egotistical, egomaniacal, erratic, reckless ASS does that?!

I'm stunned. I'm honestly stunned. I didn't think that they were really this willing to screw up the effing world for their own political purposes.

And my state senator is. not. helping!!! If he hadn't already announced he was retiring I'd want his obstructionist ass voted out of office. Right. Now!

On the other hand, there could be a silver lining. This could spell disaster come November for a certain uh... politician and his idiot of a running mate. Not saying who, but...

I wish I could believe that. I just know (and am related to) too many people willing to rationalize whatever they have to in order to justify not changing their stances. People don't see while they have blinders on and can't hear with fingers stuck in their ears going "lalalalalalalalalala!"

This is true too. He could go on a murderous rampage tomorrow and people would still vote for him because of their refusal to budge.

God, the way a certain political party refuses to learn OR change their mind scares me. And yes, I'm related to a LOT of them too. My parents, for example. Sigh.

Learning = changing your mind when new, logical, convincing information presents itself.

Ignorance = Keeping the same stance even when new, logical, convincing information presents itself.

Have people forgotten that?

Seems they could have done without his "help." What a clusterfuck.

I know. I keep feeling nauseated and like I want to cry. It's so riduculously self-serving and grandstandy, and knowing that a vast number of people will buy it makes me physically and mentally ill. I pray that people will see through it for the gambling stunt it is, but I just have no faith whatsoever after 2000 and 2004.

I can't tell you how deeply unimpressed the UK news is with the whole situation!

And wait and see how unimpressed they are when we all want to move in!

My television got fried during the hurricane or sometime afterward, maybe when the power came back on. I don't think I'm getting another TV until the election is over. I did watch the debate live on CNN.com, but I didn't have to listen to any commentary by anyone because when they finished I closed the site. I can still manage to make myself crazy with websites, but I'm trying not to.

I totally sympathize with you. I hope I don't end up in the hospital before this is all over.
