In Work...
1. Trahan Architects -- you suck! Get over yourself and your possessive tendencies. The clients can pick whatever the hell they like. (Okay, that was just for my own venting. No one has to understand it).

2. Spare me passive aggressive co-workers. I have been in charge of my office's renovation (in my mother's vernacular -- trying to make a silk purse out of a sow's ear). I have a perfectionist boss and the office has been in chaos for the last 3 weeks (and I do mean chaos. If we have pictures I'll post them because it has to be seen to be believed). Anyway, we finally got the office in something resembling order except for one VP's cubicle. Every day for the last two weeks the boss has gone by said VP's cubicle (Now unfurnished because we took out the furniture in the renovation) and told said VP that he needed to get his cubicle together. Then the boss comes over and tells me to get said VP's cubicle together (as said VP's crap is absolutely EVERYWHERE in deep piles all over his cubicles... and no furniture). In this perverse daily routine I go to the VPs area and say "tell me what furnishings you want for your area and I will arrange for them to be bought so we can straighten out your area." Said VP always replies "Not right now. I'm busy." I then offer, "If you're busy, I can do." VP: "NO! Don't touch my stuff. I'll put it up." I'm offering to go get the furniture. Tell me what you want. VP: "No! I'll take care of it later." Okay, this sick sad dance has been going on for three weeks now. My boss has reached the "seriously griping about it stage." For this entire week he has wanted this done YESTERDAY. This morning boss came to my desk. "We need to clean up VP's area. It needs to be done. " So, I go over to said VP's area, to continue the dance. "The boss wants us to clean up your area. You've had 3 weeks to 'think.' Tell me what you want. Do you want desks, counters, drafting table, tell me so that I can order them." No answer. "D----, just give me some idea what you want so we can at least put in an order so that we can tell the boss that we're doing something." No answer. I wait. "Just ---" Said VP gets up and walks RIGHT past me to the print room. When he was returning from the print room I blocked his path. "Are you ignoring me? Are you SERIOUSLY just not going to acknowlege that I'm talking to you?" VP: "I'm busy right now!"

@#()@#*$)(#*$)@*#$)(#*$)(@#$*)@#*$(#@$*)(#*$)@*#$)(@*#$()#@*$)@#*$(#@$)*$#@)*$*

If this guy was my boyfriend he would have been toast after this passive aggressive bullshit. As it is, I threw up my hands. Stomped into the other room and fumed to a few other co-workers. Then I fumed to the office manager (and anyone who is the least bit aware in our office about the office politics knows good and well what is said to the office manager is siphoned directly back to the boss-- it's a good way to get your complaints known. The office manager said that I had been a borderline saint in dealing with this VP the last few weeks because of this. And I did also tell the boss that VP won't tell me what furniture he wants in his area, and by "not tell" I mean he literally WILL NOT tell me. Boss basically said that if VP doesn't have it done by Friday that we will do it for him (Frankly, I'm for leaving the guy the hell alone and letting his sit on the damned carpet!)

In Brighter News...
1) My roses are blooming. I went out side this afternoon and the Don Juans are blooming. So are my irises. I picked a bouquet and it's a bit loud but I have a bouquet of red roses and yellow irises in my study. :)

2)I got on the scale. I've lost 27lbs. (Won't go into the depressing part of how much more I have to go. I'll just be happy with the 27lbs).

Over in Fandom

1) The SMG controversy. Boo-hoo mean ol' ME and Joss pissed on SMG's "generous" offer to show up for the finale. Er... folks. That's not what's happened. I have had three separate sources who have independently told me that it wasn't ME that called a halt to this farce -- it was FOX. SMG was asking for way too much money and demaning way too many "star" concessions and FOX basically said "see ya!" Now, I'm not clearing ME. I think Joss probably cackled at the power move and the way it ended up. In a totally unsubstantiated way, I've gotten the impression that Joss (egomaniac that HE is) has had just about enough from Ms. Cookie-Dough Gellar. And, in a lesser way, of Buffy. I don't thik that Joss much LIKES the chracter of Buffy any longer. I mean, look at the kind of using bitch he turned the character into? He knew. He absolutely KNEW how insufferable Buffy's Season 7 speeches were. Good grief, the show made fun of those speeches in Storyteller... and they just kept writing them. Guys, that's not wanting a character to look good. (Although i also stand by the hatefullness of Buffy being more than what was written. There were so many things SMG could have done to have salvaged the character, but whenever it came to a choice of showing Buffy as vulnerable and conflicted vs. Buffy snotty and superior, she chose snot. (Case in point the little sneer in "Never Leave Me.") The Downfall of Buffy is the creation of two egotists -- Joss and SMG. Joss in writing this never ending depressive story then in his litte petty "I made Buffy take on SMG's star behavior" and SMG for all her inexplicable acting choices that seem to have been designed as her way of sticking it to Joss for the sucky story. Add the two together and we get the picture of the vapid, tiresome Buffy. . .and I suspect that Buffy will indeed end as a vapid, tiresome character.

Buffy has NEVER fared well on trips to AtS. She was an ingorant, selfish child in IWRY where for all that Angel's choice was stupid and paternalistic, we were SUPPOSED to see it as very noble and self sacrifing with Buffy being young and selfish in wanting him just for herself right now and Buffy in "Sanctuary" was an insufferable, self righteous little bitch (foreshadowing basically all of her behavior in Season 6). Buffy on BtVS at least had the excuse for her egocentrism in that the story was all about her. However, on AtS she has never been presented as something...well, frankly, AtS hasn't shown Buffy as a desirable person. She's been childish in both eps. And it's entirely possible that Joss, having been stuck with the impossible situation of two vocal fanfactions in Spuffy and in Bungel... and being the sadistic bastard that he is, will do the "A pox on BOTH your houses!" as a ship conclusion. Very Jossian -- hah! Neither of them get the girl! (Which is fine by me because I consider both vamps to be INFINITELY better than this girl). I wouldn't be at all surprised if it's not framed such that Buffy is the golden girl the boys have to leave behind because they are about to go all "death, glory, and sod all else" Buffy gets her "happy ending"... and the boys are doomed fighting evil. It fits with the way that Buffy always gets her "out" no matter what a little bitch she is... while Spike and Angel get to pay and pay and pay and pay without ever getting much of anything in happiness. The funny thing is, this ends up making Buffy not 1/4 the hero the vamps are. . . then again, I don't know that in the end, Joss doesn't respect the vamps more. There's a lot of passive aggression in Buffy's very vacuousness and endless supply of "it's all about ME!"

Anyway, SMG isn't showing up because she got greedy and controlling and FOX told her to stick it. It's nothing more than that. I may hate Joss (and I do) but the ball on this one fell in FOX's and SMG's courts.

2) Regarding Spuffy and Season 7 commentaries... You know, I've discovered that I don't care any more. Now don't get me wrong. I'm one of the ones who still care PASSIONATELY about the character of Spike. It's just that as the Whedonverse comes to a close, I find that since the writers only have a couple more eps during which to yank my chain, I'm seeing light at the end of the tunnel. Once "Not Fade Away" is done, ME cannot do a single damn thing to screw with Spike any. more. And once they can stop screwing with Spike, I no longer have to give a damn what they think about selfishness and redemption. It will no longer have power because it's over. He's OURS then, only to live on in fanfic, where we will be far more careful of him. I remember BAPS's Laurie's comment about another show (either the X-Files or Forever Knight, I forget which) when she said that with the show over "The writers can stop mucking up OUR universe" which is how I feel about the Whedonverse. Once they are done with the characters in Not Fade Away, Spike becomes OURS. He will be owned by the fans who love him (because I honestly don't give a fuck what Ducks and Anti's think once it's over and they don't get what they want... pending they don't get what they want...they BETTER not get what they want). The uncertainty will be over and Spike will be ours. So whatever Joss says? Screw him. WIth "Not Fade Away" all that's left is the fandom and the Spike fandom will belong to Spike fans.

Also in the "I don't give a damn what they say" is the whole Spuffy thing. I don't give a damn what they say in commentaries. I saw what I saw. Joss can't explain it away when the show is over. He can't do his half assed commentaries excusing what sucked and still trying to give cookie crumbs to opposing factions. The point of fiction is that the writing speaks for the author (not the commentary). Joss's Buffy (and Spuffy) aren't in the commentaries, it's on screen. We each have our own reaction to the end of Spuffy (or whether we see it as an end). I know what I saw and Joss can't make it better NOW.

My Spuffy heard is dead, autopsied, buried, and not even mourned any more. I know there are Spuffies still and I feel for those Spuffies. And in a way I almost admire their way to still find something Spuffy would salvaging. There's something noble in trying to find the gold in the dross... but for me. Spuffy is dead. As long as I don't have to witness Bungel I can deal. Spike realized in Chosen that the bitch never did and never will love him in any meaninful, dependable way and I've seen nothing this season that contradicts that for me. Joss can't toy with my Spuffy heart any longer. My zombie Buffy heart got shot in the head a while ago. There's nothing left of it. (hence the Buffy loathing because I still adore the Spikey half of that ship)

3) In other fandoms... is it or isn't it a hoax? Okay, believe it or not, there's actually a writer and producer I hold in greater contempt than I do Mutant Enemy. This (wacked out, sick producers) would be Corday Productions and James Reilly. Both suck in truly amazing, amazing ways as any sane, tasteful person who has witnessed the travesty that has become "Days of Our Lives." Okay, overlooking that they killed my teen fangirl crush "Jack"... the show has been on this bizarre serial killer storyline. How on earth they can justify murdering Alice Horton -- sweet little white haired lady who has been with the show for 35 years is nuts. That they did so in such a stupid, lame way (she was choked on her own doughnuts) is disgusting. And worse, I know that Dorkday and Jabba (that would be Reilly) think it was "witty." Anyway, so I signed on the other night and a friend of mine IMed me that apparently the whole serial killer thing was a massive hoax storyline. That somehow or another they are bringing back all the serial killer's victims on the show (neat trick since Jack was not only murdered, but his cancer ridden (shh! We're not supposed to remember that) organs were donated to other people. It reminds me of that old Sally Field soap movie "But we decapitated him!" "We can write our way around that." My friend swears she has really good sources and that they are very close to Matt himself. Today when cruising over by another board I saw that soap reporter Sandy Reinhardt is saying that this "and they bring back all the dead people" plot is a hoax (meaning that the show isn't bringing them back). Time will tell. Have to say, I sort of hope they don't come back, because if they resurrect them, if for no other reason than to laugh my ass off, I'll tune back in to see how they resurrect them, and Days is a truly awful, awful, shamefully tacky show now. It's stupid. It's sad though because as stupid, cheesy and awful as it is... I'd tune in for this resurrection.

Time will tell. Which hoax is the actual hoax.

4) In the happiest fandom news... I'm still on a "Farscape will return" high. Woo-hoo! I love Farscape! A show where writers and producers and ships DIDN'T let me down!

ITA with all the Jossverse stuff, as long as he doesn't kill Spike again. I read a post on the BC&s by Ramses in which she says that she thinks that The Girl in Question will probably make fun of both 'ships. I think she's right. Like you, as long as there's no B/A endorsement, I can deal.

Interesting about SMG and Fox. Doesn't surprise me, though. Wonder if it might make them a little more willing to give us more positive Spike merchandise? Probably not.

Keeping fingers crossed for something approaching the Casablanca ending.
