Northern Exposure - 20th Anniversary
:
petzipellepingo linked to an EW post about today being the 20th anniversary of the premier of the tv series "Northern Exposure." Boy, that makes me feel old!
It was a show about a tiny, eccentric town in Alaska called Cicely (which could never be confused with Palin's Wassila)that was full of quirky, lovely characters. In a fit of nostaligia I hit YouTube, so some poetic and lyrical NE moments:

YouTube took down the clip I used to have bookmarked of the last scene of the series, but they do have a clip of Iris Dement singing the song from that scene live:

No matter how many times I hear it, I cannot hear this song without crying... or without thinking of the wonderful ending of Northern Exposure.

(And it occurs to me I'm wrong when I think that BtVS was the first hour-long "dramady" I watched religiously!)

And Rick being hit by falling space junk and becoming one with it still one of the funniest things I've ever seen.
