Finally finished To Say Nothing of the Dog today and I loved it. What a fun, fluffy book. I'd definitely rec it.
Have now bought Doomsday Book by the same author (Connie Willis) and I'm still waiting for the sequel of her most recent book that's supposed to be published next month along with Jim Butcher's anthology that is supposed to have some follow-up to the most recent Harry Dresden novel (that ended with a totally unfair cliffhanger!)

Date: 2010-09-15 04:05 am (UTC)Expect a VERY different tone from Doomsday Book! When push comes to shove, I might say that DB is the best book I've ever read. There are many contenders (Jane Eyre, Ender's Game, to name a couple), but it's one of the top ones. (This is different from FAVORITE book.)
Also impatiently waiting for All Clear....

Date: 2010-09-15 06:38 pm (UTC)I loved that book, but I do have to warn you that Doomsday Book (as one might guess from the title & description) is about as far from fun and fluffy as you can get. I remember SOBBING over it (I mean, I loved it, and it was wonderful, but *SOBS!*)
It's so weird you should post about this, because I was just yesterday thinking about re-reading Doomsday Book in the near future!!
