Vampire Diaries - The problem I have with these flashbacks, is that they don't seem very flash-backy. They tend to seem like they dressed up modern actors in modern make-up and put them in some amorphous time in the past that isn't particularly historically accurate... and ask a bit too much of the actress. I don't know. I think that this episode may have asked a bit more of her than she could deliver. She looked pretty, anyway.'

Fringe - A cow that gives chocolate milk and then a mention of bacon flavored pudding. How does Walter's brain work? LOL Bad-livia killed the deaf guy! Not cool! And an exploding head? Ookie.

Yeah, I felt a bit disappointed in Dobrev's performance tonight. I thought she was great in the premiere, but this episode felt a bit weak.

I think it was partly the writing, though. I dunno. This was a weak episode.

I love Fringe, but I do think doing the autopsies without any protection other than gloves was pretty dumb. And Walter licking his tie? Ewwww.

Is it just me who wants Damon to actually make a friend? At least Spike had Clem . . .

And c'mon, show. Even DB was chump enough to put on the world's worst Irsih accent for Buffy/Angel flashbacks, can't you put some effort into Southern Drawls? They'd make the costumes look more authentic! I swear!

Yes, show was otherwise kind of uninspired tonight. I kept on hoping Jeremy would show up so we could get some Bromance going on with Damon instead of everyone shitting on him all the time, but no. We see Damon make another enemy. Ho hum. What else is new.

Katherine and Elena meeting? Anticlimactic.

It was a little flat but at least we found out some things about the Lockwood werewolf curse. And Jeremy must have fallen in a well and taken Matt with him.

Mte. I was so disappointed when Damon said he wouldn't see Alaric at the game next week! Like, Damon, baby, Alaric is your bromance. Why are you fighting it?

I miss when Damon would go to Alaric and they'd share a drink and then Alaric would punch Damon and then Damon would laugh 'cause he knew he deserved it and then they'd make out and then they'd go hunt down vampires and be BAMFs and then they'd make out again.

Good times.

Yeah, agreed on disappointing TVD. While I do give credit to the actors in that Stefan and Damon both seem noticeably younger in the flashbacks and Katherine noticeably different from Elena, you're right, I don't get a firm sense of the time period. They could be flashbacks to anything.

Also, am I the only one who has ZERO interest in the werewolf storyline? Not that I'm anti-werewolf, but I've never liked Tyler, and a storyline involving his family's secrets has no appeal for me.

YES! Damon totally needs a friend. My vote is for Alaric, but Jeremy has potential, too. Actually, it'd be really interesting if Damon and Jeremy became real friends, since killing Jeremy is the reason Elena refuses to be friends with Damon, but if he can forgive Damon for that, then Elena's in a weird position.

Katherine and Elena meeting? Anticlimactic.

Yeah... bummer.

I keep thinking how horrible this is for Olivia. She's had her life hijacked and her head majorly screwed with. It may be true that all's fair in war, but I can't help thinking that these are NOT good people in/from the alternate world. Too ruthless. I'm sure as the season moves forward we'll get more insight into them, and they'll be humanized but right now most of them seem pretty crappy.

I also can't help but think Olivia's going to be *pissed* when she gets back and finds out Peter couldn't tell that wasn't she. I keep wanting to slap him upside the head...

I'm not a big fan of the flashback episodes. Surely we know everything we need to at this point. How they met Katherine, and how they became vampires. Stop with the weird flasbacks already.
