It's always frustrating when a show insists that someone or something is hotter than you, the viewer, thinks that it is.

I finally got around to watching last weeks Being Erica, and I found myself somewhat annoyed by both her sex dream and later her obvious drooling because, to be perfectly frank, Erica may find the guy to be amazingly hot, but he doesn't do much for me. Their time would be better spent making me like him (I am learning to like him) but I'm not being bowled over by teh sexay!

Liked some of the subplots though with Mom and Dad, Julianne and the espresso bar owner, and Sis and the Janitor (who is quite cute and soooooo much nicer than her obnoxious ex. )

Also, already voted today.  It wasn't crowded.  And I think the way that we vote for amendments to the (absolutely endless) Alabama Constitution is absurd.  I'm a relatively educated person, I think, and I still find myself reading those amendments and thinking 'huh?' (Commissions on ad valorem taxes under Provision 778... What? There were commissions?  What's Provision 778?  Why am I voting on a sales tax in Warrior  when I live somewhere else?  And why am I voting on zoning in Blount County? I don't live there either.   Does this make sense?  (Still not as amusing as the year we had "The sheep and goats" amendment... that was actually about sheep and goats. The Alabama Constitution is a several hundred page convoluted mess.)

Also, good thing I voted in the primary.  It's a crying shame how many folks were running unopposed.  Unfortunately there's a 0% chance of our asshole senator not being re-elected.

Haha, I had the same reaction to Being Erica. All the weird lingering close-ups of Adam felt like they were forcing his supposed hotness. I think it would've been more effective to show more of Erica being attracted to him, rather than putting us in her POV and assuming we'd see what she sees.

And that dream creeped me the fuck out, because I really thought he was sneaking in and fondling her in her sleep, which is unbelievably skeevy. Even after I realized it was a dream, I couldn't shake the "what a creeper" feeling. (Also, is it just me, or is Adam Fergus, like, the WORST kisser ever? Dude, she is a person, not an ice cream cone. Tone down the tongue!)

I can't decide whether to LOL at your sheep and goats amendment, or to be very, very afraid of Alabama politics. :-P

All the weird lingering close-ups of Adam

Dude! I know. Julianne's voyeurism with the m/m slash was less awkward! And the tongue-kissing. Dude! It's television. We don't need to see it! And, yes, I had the same skeeved reaction that he'd just walked into her apartment, which, no! Had he ever once been invited in?!

And the sheeps and goats... I honestly, don't know. I think it was a zoning issue. I actually pass a small little field of goats (and horses) every morning on my drive to work. They're cute. :)

Yes, I voted for the poor Democrat sap who doesn't stand a chance in hell of unseating John McCain here in Arizona.

I think I might watch some returns -- I'm actually more concerned with the results of the Nevada (Reid v Angle) than anything here in AZ; most of 'em are pretty much a foregone conclusion in this Oh-So-Red state...

Yeah, I voted for a few Democrats that had no one hope in hell.
