Season 8

Let me see:

The world can't handle there being more than one empowered woman (possibly two) in it. Such a thing  throws the balance of the entire universe so out of whack that a sentient universe convinces a man to think for the poor little woman, lying to and manipulating her,  while the universe places her in what looks a lot like heat so as to 'birth' an apocalypse that has extreme mommy-issues.

And the only way to stop this apocalypse is to strip another set of women of their magical powers.

What's wrong with this picture?

Have to say--that is one creepy assed drawing of "Angel" right there...

[identity profile] shipperx.livejournal.com 2011-01-19 07:38 pm (UTC)(link)
I feel rather sorry for how Angel has been reduced and re-written... and frequently drawn with bizarre ill-proportions.

Yeah, that...wasn't Angel.

*shakes head*

Everyone's entitled to their own opinion and all, but seriously, what a severe lack of understanding of who and what he was on the writers part. And I use the term "writing" loosely.

Characterization never played into it. They're simply metaphors acting as such with no motivation.

Apparently the method to the madness was to set up Fray. Why that was so damned important, I'll never know.

[identity profile] infinitewhale.livejournal.com 2011-01-21 02:20 am (UTC)(link)

Yeah, I read that. It doesn't even really set Fray up either. Scythe is broken and the explanation for what happened doesn't match up. Also if it was so important, why did he even write that ending to Chosen?

*sigh* Even if that was his intent, I really don't know what the point of assassinating Buffy, Angel and Giles was.

So, so many things.

This is true.

It's awful. With #40 Joss has literally destroyed *everything* I loved about Buffy. It makes not reading s9 a no brainer, though. I have less than zero interest in this Buffy. :(

(I keep trying to pinch myself - Joss took a beautiful, complex, strong young woman and turned her into a self-centered, shallow brat. I'd not thought it possible.)

But...haven't you heard, Joss is a feminist! Really!

Yes, his feminist credential were written large... when Dawn had to apologize to the guy who abused her.

What's wrong with this picture?

Well, it looks like a bobble-headed 12-year-old...

And here I thought it was snub-nosed flesh colored smurfs...

Ugh. I like to live in my fannon world where Buffy and Spike have a passionate, respectful, equal relationship.

Fanon is definitely more enjoyable.
